Becky Can you tell us what you are getting stressed about ? Is it something you can change ? If not dont even think about it. Think 'Does it really matter' and I will tell you now no it doesnt
;)
Mavvymoo, reading your post I realise this is what makes me feel stressed, for the moment there is nothing that I can do. Thanks for making me understand that. On the positive side, I have ticked off 2 more tasks from my to do list today. Now I am looking forward to the bake off programme tonight.
The plan for tomorrow is to fill up the garden bin as much as possible before it is being emptied tomorrow. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

juliebunny, good luck with the flexible working request. If it's of the 'work from home' type, I managed to get that, without kids.
My nearby desk colleague (with a kid) was originally denied. Her boss was outside of the UK and thought it was more of a jolly than her right as a UK employee to request it. Needless to say, when she printed out the reasons they could deny, they reversed their decision.

Well, I'm crawling out of the woodwork to join you all if I may. I've had the book for several weeks, read most of it twice, and taken nearly 3 weeks to wade through this thread. I kept being diverted by links, and following other links and so on. I have done my clothes, handbags and shoes etc. I made a major mistake when I located my shoes in the bottom of the wardrobe. There's lots of room and they look good. But I have the only chair in my room in front of the wardrobe, and I can't put it anywhere else at the moment.
Chaos here at the moment as I've just done the first attack on my books. I have 8 boxes of fiction and about 20 bags of non-fiction, all large books, hanging around in the house, and lots more that needs boxing up. I seem to have bought lots of baking books, but have never baked anything from any of them! Wishful baker evidently. I'm off the CS Friday, so I'll pack the car tomorrow and then try to tidy up. 2 bookcases and a computer desk on Freecycle at the moment. I'm trying hard, even though DH is not being too helpful.0 -

Thanks to both, yes it's to wah 2 days a month. A minor request or so you would think but about 4 years ago I requested wah and it was denied with no good reason...(UN?)fortunately I now have a chronic medical condition so that may sway a little....even just to get small things done on those days like a load of washing would be a great help.
Fpcat welcome out of the woodwork!
Dog sitting tonight.....seem to have kondoed the cats for a fee hours.....he is a small pooch, doesn't even acknowledge the cats, ignores them lol! Bit OT sorry!!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Hello and welcome, fpcat, lovely to have you kondo-ing alongside us. Sounds like you've made a strong start there, more power to your elbow.
I have purchased a new-to-me shoulderbag for £2.99 from a chazzer which I am finding joyful. It's fabric and has just had a trip around the washing machine and will come straight into service. One I've lived with it for a few days, the other one will go chazzerwards, back where it came from. I only have one handbag at a time, I'm a [STRIKE]sloven[/STRIKE] err low maintenance type of woman.:rotfl:
How lovely that iQueen and VJsMum have had a natter and cake, just proves that we're all real, too. Well, I'm a figment of someone's imagination, but you get the gist.
Have been chatting to my brother today and he has got wet again. Turns out that his waterproof coat isn't usable for some of the year because it is a very thick and warm waterproof coat. What he lacks is a lightweight shell type waterproof jacket. I have offered to get one for him as a combined Xmas/ birthday one. He's unfussy about clothes and as I'm the one in the city, I have access to a lot more retail opportunities than he does, so will be stalking TK Maximus et al, esp in sales. Might take a wee whiley to track down the right item and the right price, but I'm a patient person.I did tell him that he'll have to chuck out the ratty old no-longer-waterproof to make room for it, which he accepted without a fuss.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

VJsmum and I had a super time today! Meeting a fellow Konvert from here, is quite special. :j
We had a joke about 'what if we didn't like each other'... she would have had 2 hours to kill before the next train and I'd have just driven home! :rotfl:
We went for lunch in VJsmum's favourite cafe, which also happens to be mine. It's in the heart of the town, and today was market day... but we didn't move from the cafe until nearly 5 hours later, so neither of us had to manacle the other to prevent impulse buying! (But I might just have to go back and get that ring - I could definitely feel the joy, for several reasons.):rotfl:
I think we covered every subject under the sun, except religion! And we hada lorra lorra laughs!
It was certainly the best 'blind date' I've ever been on!
True, we never got onto the Room of Doom, but, we got to the doorway - where access stops! :rotfl: And as that wonderland (I have little idea of what's in there!) is going to be my last kondoing task, as a reward for doing all the rest, I've invited her to share that delight with me, eventually!I've certainly got an added incentive to get a move on, kondo-wise!
BTW, Konverts, the cake was a 'healthy' date and oat slice!
VJsmum, Thank you again for a lovely afternoon - I'm definitely full of joy! And if you ever have a few minutes between trains, I'll happily pop over to the station buffet, or the Quarry, for a brew with you, if you like.
I called in at the Leisure Centre, before going home, and got membership forms! I get free swimming and Aquafit, because I'm so old! Also, I can ask my GP to prescribe the gym! How cool is that? :j (Practising!)
Looking forward to next time.Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

Have been struck down by RL recently and only just returned to lurking at the weekend. Haven't Kondoed a thing and really missing it. Did finally drop off two bags of clothes & komono to the CS which was great but came home with shoes, sigh. Those and handbags are my big downfall. BUT - I did throw out two old, past their best pairs a while ago and gave a lovely comfortable pair to a friend as they had stretched a lot in the few weeks since I bought them. She's delighted as they are in mint condition and I'm not as upset as I was when I realised I couldn't wear them, even with heavy socks and insoles!
So happy to read all the positive MK work being done - hoping it will help me kickstart the next phase - paperwork.Looking ahead0
