            I must be more disciplined!
I really need to get back on track. Thank goodness, I've still got my mojo!
The cold weather de-railed me, because I was limited to doing things in the living-room. My clothes and bedding etc are half-done, so the bedrooms are cluttered. I have managed to kondo various bags and boxes containing random komono, but yesterday... I cleared a kitchen work-surface that has been driving me mad, and now the ceramic hob is stacked! So, that will have to done today, or I will be living on sandwiches! And I may as well do all the kitchen shelves as well.
I definitely need to get back to 'categories'. It really is the only way to get through this - otherwise, the results are not immediately noticeable; and the instant results are the key motivation. :T
Thank you to all the supportive people on this thread, and all the newbies who stop lurking and are joining in: all the activity is truly inspirational. This project will be taking me some time! Needs, NOT wants! Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

Good morning A bit of a kondo standstill here im afraid, night shifts and housework just dont go together. The tidy bits are still tidy though so Im pleased about that. Im planning to have the day at the allotment, then tackle the pantry of doom later, its become a bit of a dumping ground, the plan is to house shoes and coats in wardrobes, and cleaning stuff (mop and bucket, brushes etc) in the shed by the back door, I have put on here to hopefully motivate me in to actually doing it!! have a good day all A bit of a kondo standstill here im afraid, night shifts and housework just dont go together. Morning all
I just wanted to say how lovely it is to hear of everyones progress and to assure people just starting or in the middle of kondoing that it does all go eventually. It is very tiring the initial mess and effort, especially if you have a condition that zapps the energy. I have an underactive thyroid and athough on the correct level of meds, apparently. There are days I feel brain fog and exaustion take over.
Just think you will never have to cull those pens again.
or risk the avalanche of plastic tubs and lids when you open the cubhoards. Those were my version of my mothers glass jar hoard. She didnt ever make jam or chutney and dont get me started on her mountains of( these will be useful one day) old newspapers. It was her generation thing I suppose.
I opened 6 items of post this morning all sorted and filed away to be actioned or kept. I normally would have shoved all in a drawer to be dealt with 'later'. That never happened of course and have some memory problems with the thyroid thing.
With less stuff and being more organized I attempt to to get most chores done as soon in the day as possible.
I'm retired of course so I can do that but I still get up uber
soon even weekends. I hate to lie in it makes me more groggy.
I have loads planned this summer looking forward to it very much.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
 Put on some lipstick
 and pull yourself together”

Got the brand new shiny book from the library.I had asked them to buy it, so I am the first to get my mitts on it!
For those who have read it, can I skip bits? I doubt I have time to read it all as I have a transcription job that is taking a fair bit of time and I'm asleep within about five minutes once I go to bed!
It is possible to read the whole book in under 3 hours.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Ivyleaf I really feel your pain. I have been valiantly trying to sort my small hall. I have a chair and a basket to pop all my bits in for work.
Yesterday when I left for work it was lovely and tidy. When I arrived home, lying just in front of the door was an exercise machine!
My eldest DD, who moved out 8 months ago decided she had nowhere to store the machine so thought she could bring it here. Grrrrrrrr! It is currently in the Room of Doom but will be Kondoed OUT asap.
Now that's just the sort of thing that happens here. Thanks for the sympathy folks, it does make me feel better 0 0

            Hi all,
Sounds like things are moving a pace for most of you, some, like me have stalled.
I am waiting for DH to have time to knock a wall down in the front bedroom and replaster it etc then I can move onto the next phase which is moving DD into that room and DS into her old one - this will free up our smallest bedroom to become a spare bedroom/hobby room - we can then move all DH,s Airfix stuff ( his bit of RandR) and my wine making and sewing stuff in there.
It,s all mapped out in my mind - just need to make it happen
Can,t nag DH too much, because if he,s not working here, it means he,s making money working for other,s.
The final phase is ripping out the downstairs bathroom and re-doing it - tiles are bought, again, just getting the time to do it.
Konmarie is DH,s nemisis and I am her local sidekick Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !! Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

I've been away from home, looking after my grandsons and had good intentions for today, when I returned home but I have been too tired due to a very late night last night. Oh well, it was worth it! Tomorrow, being Mothers' Day, we will be out for afternoon tea at a local hotel. On Monday I am out to lunch so I will not tackle anything big. Come Tuesday, I will start again.
I have to say that I find myself loving my house more because it is looking so much tidier.0

Next on the list for me is books.
However, I have a very painful frozen shoulder and am feeling sorry for myself instead. Not in the mood for sorting anything
I should be having a cortisone injection on Thursday, so hopefully will be able to get back on the horse soon after that.
I love reading everyone's stories though - keeps me motivated Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs... Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Not done much today except drop a bag of unwanted gifts at CS. However, did get positive comments from rather OCD MIL. She came into the kitchen today and said have you done something different in here? So I told her about the kondoing. She was impressed despite the pile of tools and stuff to go back into OHs garage ( I am not allowed in as I might start asking if the pile of wheels brings him joy.)
I feel as I have come to a stop just like Islandmaid. We are still trying to finish DD bedroom so have lots of her stuff all over the place. I think the term Tetris has been used to describe the problem.
Good news is that the stuff that has been done is staying done.De cluttering Konvert.Getting there
