Thanks for helpful comments. I am waiting for their "marketing" department to get back to me as they are responsible for the promotion.
I have about ten of these vouchers and none of them say the promotion can be withdrawn at any time.
Also the pizza company are still allowing the vouchers to be produced AND possibly win a £10 ASDA VOUCHER as well.

There is the following term and condition on the promotion.
"The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, terminate or temporarily suspend this promotion in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or technical reason outside its reasonable control, with no liability to any entrants or third parties."
This will be their get out. You agree to these conditions when you enter the promotional code on the website. The third party is Asda.
It's annoying but legally they're covered.0 -

The sell plush stuffed lions in their toy sections, so they do sell lions0 -

If the issue is that they arent being processed properly, that doesnt sound like its outside their reasonable control to me.0 -
who says they arent being processed properly, in fact it was that the manufacturer was not paying asda for the coupons
Choosing not to repay the retailers for rightfully redeemed coupons doesn't seem to be outside their reasonable control.
I think you're right that they're probably covered under the "unforseen circumstances" bit, assuming you read it that only technical reasons have to be outside their reasonable control. Even so, failing to foresee that including a £1.50 voucher off a product that costs £1.50 will result in your giving away free product seems to be spectacularly shortsighted of them.0 -
I always think people who open food in supermarkets to eat are extremely rude.
Frankly I don't think anyone should eat when they are in a store. It's a shop not a restaurant.
It's annoying when you pick up a product and discover that a previous shopper had been eating and had then used their greasy hands to previously touch the can/jar/packet/bottle/box.
Also the smell of it isn't pleasant for other shoppers. I think it just lacks class as well.0 -
Just a quick update on this. I want there to be a start, a middle and an end to this thread.
The middle bit is..... pizza place replied today. The response is....
We apologise for the difficulty you have experienced. We will arrange to send a replacement voucher set to you by post today. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards
Ristorante Team
Nothing to address that I have 11 vouchers I cannot use. No confirmation that ASDA are incorrect or otherwise. No mention of who is actually accepting the voucher or not.
So tomorrow all the vouchers, and all the emails are being sent to the pizza office by special delivery.
Hopefully I can come back here and tell you what the end is!
Thanks again for advice on here.0 -
Update: the weather is rotten where I live and won't be going to the Post Office so have sent this mail message off just now....
Hello.
Thank you for your email.
I am not happy at your response at all.
Did you read what I said about ASDA refusing your coupons as you will not reimburse the stores that accept them?
I have an email now from ASDA HOUSE confirming they will not accept the coupons as you are refusing to refund the retailer.
What exactly are you sending me? I have 11 of these coupons that I cannot use.
This whole promotion is shocking. The more I look into it, the more angry I get.
I want the truth from you. Are ASDA staff correct to deal with me in a way that I felt like a criminal? Or is this one branch choosing a blanket policy to refuse them? If that is the case, I will deal with them once you let me know.
I spent £400 in that store in the last 2 weeks and will not be treated like that when I was doing nothing wrong except participate in your promotion.
So to sum up. I have 11 of these coupons.
What do I do with them?
Is ASDA correct that you are refusing to refund retailers?
If they are wrong, please confirm this and I will make sure ASDA understand how mortified I was that evening.
There was a promotion in the 90's. It became known as the HOOVER free flights fiasco. It has gone down in history books as the company got it so wrong. I think your pizza promotion may be the next.
Sorry for being annoyed, but I am furious at the way I was treated in ASDA that night and I will not be mugged off. By them or you.
So please get back to me when you can and I can take this forward0 -
I like the Hoover flight reference. I agree this £1.50 voucher will almost certainly be seen in the same light as the free flights were
I think special delivery is £6.40. If you sent the vouchers by that method that's quite a significant chunk of the money you would get if you redeem the vouchers!0
