This is a known blag, the pizzas are on offer at Asda for £1.48 so you go get one from the cabinet, redeem the code on your phone instore and get a pizza for free

But as the codes are inside the pizza box, simply getting a box from the cabinet isn't enough. You have to open the box in the store, something that wouldn't go down too well if the staff find you doing this.

Just a quick update on this. The coupons all expire 26/01/2015 so the entire promotion is coming to an end in a couple of weeks....

Despite this, ASDA HOUSE replied to my email confirming the pizza company have refused to refund the stores accepting the coupons so ASDA stopped accepting them.

They have referred me to the pizza company and I am waiting to hear back from them. I had contacted them both last night via their web pages.

Talk about a marketing blunder...... Just like the HOOVER Free Flights Fiasco....

Will come back and let you know what Dr O says!

I will make sure I get offer redeemed.....

Why wouldnt it if you are purchasing it? I often go round when needing to add mid week things to my weekly online shop and open a pack of crisps or whatever if I am hungry,

It should have been Dr Oetker that you should have complained to all along. Your post title needs changing as you've got the wrong company.

Asda are still selling the pizza with the worthless voucher advertised on them, and in doing so are breaching the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.

not really, look in any supermarket, you will see stock with offers on the labels when the offer has expired, as long as the product is in date then they are not breaching any laws.

There is a big difference in selling something that has an expired special offer and selling something that has an in date offer whilst knowing that the offer concerned can't be redeemed.

Any offer or freebie that influences someone to purchase goods forms part of the contract of sale so a retailer can't legally sell the pizzas without first informing potential customers that the code inside the box will no longer work.
It's different with the expired offers as the expiry date will be shown on the packaging.

quite right - ASDA should, at the very least, be providing information next to the pizza saying that they will not accept the coupons inside the boxes imo.

But their is NO law that says any store should accept any coupons, codes etc. are added by manufacturer, they cant made stores accept their coupons. I can goto my wholesalers and find products with codes for various things, but nothing saying i have to accept any coupons relating to these codes etc.

    1. You shouldn't. Until you've been through the tills, they aren't your crisps. You shouldn't be eating them.

    2. Even if you did... doesn't really work when talking frozen pizzas. Or do you suck them like a big ice pop ??
