ASDA Coupon policy

Options
Hi everyone.

I thought I would post this just highlight how rubbish the service can be at ASDA.

Dr Oetker are doing a promotion where if you buy a Pizza, you type in a code to their website and they email you 2 coupons. 1 for £1.50 off and 1 for £1.00 off.

Went to my local ASDA and bought the pizza and the fast lane till called a supervisor for authorisation. She then said that ASDA do not accept these coupons as Dr Oetker are not refunding them the money.

Then another assistant came who then called a manager who advised me pretty much the same. I asked why are you happy to sell the pizza promotion packs but then refuse to redeem the promotional coupons?

Came home, called ASDA Customer Services who told me they don't accept the coupons but they don't know why and to write to ASDA HOUSE as they will know.

I am seriously considering changing where I shop.

I'm not sure any retailers are accepting them due to mass abuse of the vouchers via MSE and HUKD :(

But what is the mass abuse? Its says on mines COUPONS ARE UNIQUE AND TRACKABLE - DUPLICATION WILL BE DETECTED

I honestly felt like I had done something wrong in that store tonight. Three of them all round my till. When she handed me them back, she said "phone the number on the coupon and get them to send you proper coupons" But these are the coupons I printed off from the email!

It's not Asda's fault it was a it seems people were able to duplicate vouchers using the code inside the box and by using the same code to print one off...it started a few months ago and it seems it was a loophole all down to Dr Oetker.

You'd think manufacturers could have got this figured by now-give some people an inch and they'll take a mile

There was no need to duplicate them, you could buy one pizza at full price (Between £1.50 and £2.00). You then receive two vouchers one for £1.50 off and the other for £1 off. This enabled you to buy two more pizzas for either 50p or £1 which then gave you 2 x £1.50 vouchers and 2x £1.00 so you could buy 4 pizzas for either £1 or £2 and receive 4x £1.50 vouchers and 4 x £1.00 vouchers etc etc

Or you could just keep using the £1.50 off and get keep getting free pizzas.

HUKD reported that a lot of retailers were allowing customers to use multiple vouchers on each visit

It is upto any retailer if they accept coupons or not.

I don't blame them if Dr Oetker won't pay them.

Your vent is at the wrong company. You should be complaining to Dr Oetker. Your argument as to why Asda are still selling those pizzas hasn't been thought out, not everyone is going to buy purely for the vouchers so taking them off sale will probably annoy more people who just wanted to buy the pizza as it is.

The long and the short of it is your complaining about completely the wrong company.
  • I think you better need to contact Dr Oetker. It is best to contact to him, so that you can get clarification of whose mistake it is.
