  • Good Morning everyone.

Let's get the sad news out of the way. One of my first love horses has been pts this morning. RIP big man. Will say no more as the tears are coming.

Secondly the big girl is still stumbling so we are getting the vet again this week and a decision will be made on retirement v treatment if a diagnosis is made.

In happier news. We had the most amazing weekend from a family and other horse point of view. It was DD's birthday and we had lots of family time, friends time and general what life is all about time. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I got through quite a bit of knitting too and promised DD I would have the headband ear warmer done by Saturday that I started yesterday for her. Still not finished DS's scarf - what a monster pattern that is.

I have found a onesie knitting pattern too!!!

I've also been meaning to say that I've noticed a big difference in fuel lasting due to the cheaper fuel we're being offered (car). I am getting to the weekend with enough left for a change. So that's fab.

If you recall I have £20 a week left for food until pay day and yesterday came to £23. I have SC diced beef on today which I will put with mash and veg. Tomorrow will be sausage casserole as it's my long day. Wed is "what you get" day. I'll think about Thurs and Fri nearer time.

I tried to buy even cheaper on this grocery shop (ie cheaper bread) so hopefully it won't be too bad of a month.

Lots of chit chat around the next house this weekend. It wasn't all started by me either lol. Keeps me going though, the thought of having them all at home and a little smallholding come livery yard going on.

  • Job 2 paid out on Friday so I've just sent the loan pony money to the account I pay it out of so he's paid for and I've sent the remaining £10 to the CCV which now stands at £8135 exactly. I will get another payment in on 24th Feb which should be enough to just, by a hair's width, take me sub 8k.

I'm going to have vets bills next month. Vaccination plus xrays. The vet's just confirmed she can xray her this week - mobile thank goodness as I'd have to start now if I wanted to box her.

Hopefully job 2 will come up with the goods and help me out. It's council tax free month next month and that was allocated but I have that as plan b if needs be.

  • Right, if my groceries can be kept down with the help of my lovely mam and if DH can bring the meat home from work and take it out of his own budget then we should be able to reduce the groceries even further next month. Also fuel budget has been updated accordingly now that the price has come down. I've worked out how much school will cost given that there's loads of holidays where we don't pay for the morning drop off club. Taking all that into account I'm hoping to be clear of the big CC using October's payment. How exciting.

  • To remind myself that even if January's overpayments weren't huge - the total amount that I paid to debt from January's pays is 1250. Not to be sniffed at and a little reminder to myself that there's got to be a stopping point each month, even if I don't want there to be. We have to eat, horses need to be paid for and bills need to be taken care of.

Another work day almost done. Vet is coming Thurs for the big girl so had to arrange cover for the kids. Least we hope to find out one way or the other.

No work in tonight yet but there is time. I think I will go over after tea tonight so about 5:30 - 6 ish.

  • Thank you both.

Long day Tuesday is upon us! Mind you I am back to feeling like every day is a long day now I'm getting the extra work in. It's great :)

I have beef in the SC again today. Not only because it was lovely last night, but as that's all I had in to defrost. Have asked DH to bring some chicken home from work and will have that next.

I had another file in last night, assigned quite late so I didn't think I was getting anything therefore I am pleased that I did. Kicked this week's quota off with 94 minutes left to get (as I had 10 in credit from last week). Last night's person had an accent I struggled with but I got there so I'm pleased. Just listen, rewind, repeat! So fingers crossed for some good files and lots of quota's reached for the next 2 years :D

The house is reasonably tidy (that's the best it will ever be, life is too short) and things are reasonably organised so I'm happy.

My brother in law suggested I try to get my phone fixed myself as it will be out of warranty so I think I will try that maybe at the weekend.

I think a soup making session might be on the cards tonight in between jobs.

    Take care everyone.

  • There seem to be a lot of accent ones coming through at the moment - I was proofreading one which I think might have been Azerbaijan this morning, about 25% inaudibles, all of which I had to check! The workload does seem to be picking up again though, which is great :)
  • I'm super concious of my inaudibles as I find if I go back after the file is done, your ear has adapted to the accent so you usually get them. 25% is a lot though!
Yes, I'm really pleased re workload. I've emailed them re PR work too but they aren't looking until someone leaves atm so I'm still on the interest list. I've also asked for any long turn around files where Jo gives you a file and a week to do it but the file is 3.5 hours long or such. Then I can work at my own pace but few and far between there.
As long as I can meet my quota I'll be over the moon.

I'm putting a week's holiday in over Easter (wc 6/4) and toying with taking a week off properly or still doing job 2. If I can earn enough to cover me over that week then I will probably enjoy a week without work :)
