  • Not much flying going to get done today apart from tidying up after last nights guests in dining room and kitchen (was good night though)

Today consists of wall climbing for 2 hrs (DS1) eye tests (DH and DS2) buying new walking boots (DS1 and DS2) and hopefully new laptop (DH).

Pretty sure after that we'll be exhausted :)

Have a fab day everyone, big hugs to those who need it and a smile being sent to everyone - feel free to pass it on :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

Oh Pigpen such a cute little girl. So full of energy!

Not going to get much done today. I'll aim for vacuuming downstairs and that's my lot.

  • Up very late for me, which is a great surprise.

Lovely day here, if a bit windy. First washload belatedly in machine. Hoping to take advantage of the drying conditions.

thankfully DH is a lot better, if still very chesty. his Christmas present is tonight - we are off to see I'm sorry I haven't a clue in York.

DH has gone shopping to A**I, I have just spoken to my credit card people about a fraud on my card. so new card will be with me soon and I have to cut up my current one. Thankfully it was only 1 transaction.

Right, off to catch up with a week's ironing....

Just back from an hour's dog walk. The dogs loved it, running across the fields, but I'm having a cuppa now to warm up as I feel I've fought a battle just trying to stay upright. Also had to tidy up a bit in the village as I went, rubbish blown about, bins over - that kind of thing. Put out some of the composting & rubbish before taking my coat off.

What else have I done today? Mmmm, did the fridge/freezer/meal plan thing and texted a short shopping list to DH. One load of washing done and on airer, stuff already on airer has been put away.

Next on list is the hoovering and mopping.

    Good morning...

Thanks so much for all of your ongoing help and support :o
Im ok thanks - a bit calmer now (less tears!) and have had lots of advice from a lovely HR person, so all in all feeling much more confident about it... Well, as confident as I can be.

WM on, kitchen sorted (again) to some sort of order. Does anyone else just feel like you are permanently cleaning the kitchen!?

DS is matching up socks and will be getting dressed shortly... We need to go in town to get his haircut (badly).

I think the washing machine will be getting put through a service wash this weekend... some water was leaking from it yesterday, so hopefully a bit of TLC will see it right again...

Valli - I kind of feel your pain with the car... Mine is making awful noises and I know I need to put it into the garage before it gets worse... ITs just soooo much money for repairs though :( Fingers crossed for you and vibes for a cheap repair bill! x

  • Morning everyone

Valli our 10 yo car goes in for its MOT/service in March. Not looking forward to that at all. Hope its not too expensive for you, I suppose at least you werent stranded somewhere.

We have a roof tile off - again - and one slipped on the front. Could be worse I suppose but the forecast is not very promising. Its so difficult to get a builder to come and replace one tile too.

I have done nothing other than hang a bit of washing out and its half eleven. I have got loads to do and I dont want to be bothered.

    Better move myself!

So I got hold of my sister and cousin and Aunty and asked them all to chip in to a wetsuit for her for Christmas rather than something else. She was so happy she screamed when she opened it!

Thank you for telling us about that, it sounded like you found the perfect present for her. Lovely.

So we limped to a garage in a nearby town (ie not where I live/work) which they recommend. The garage can look at it Tues when there will be much decluttering of £££ and more tomorrow when I go to hire a car - which will cost me a bit more than I would have laid out in taxis just to get to/from work. Plus I'm supposed to be decluttering DS to Uni.

    *sigh*

I know it's mega-painful at the moment, but thank goodness you spotted the leak when you did, rather than halfway to or even worse from (on your own) taking DS back to Uni.

All the time, every single time I go in there I can see things I should be tackling. I nibble when I've got the energy. There is also a permanent pile of washing waiting for a day when I can peg it out.

OH decluttered to the station early, so I popped into Sainsbobs for my alcohol-free beer and thence to the market for the week's food shopping. I heart our market - one of my new year resolutions is to support local businesses more. I keep coming out of there thinking they've made a mistake and I've been grossly undercharged. *kerching*

Je suis Charlie email sent to local French business.

An enterprising man (hint :rotfl:) has been to collect me and relieve me of lots of my hard-earned cash. But I am mobile for the forseeable. Toaday I shall be mostly running around like a fly with a blue backside cleaning and clearing. The house is an utter, utter pit but I have already done some sorting in the kitchen and have flung some saved jam jars as I have plenty and these have narrow necks.

    Living room here I come...

House is hoovered and mopped through. Quick lunch now using leftovers from the fridge and Xmas (ham/lettuce/tomato baguette with some pring1es) and a read of the paper. After I will clean those high shelves in the kitchen and then do sewing (which is something I actually want to do). Need to fit in another dog walk too.
