FIRST FULL THREAD OF 2015

This week will see a LOT of newcomers which happens every year, sadly many of these ladies and gents do not stay long. This influx usually means the thread is very very busy, please do not lose heart if you cannot keep up with everyone else or reading the thread, don't try to reply to everyone and please remember to include something about flying in your posts, chat is for the weekend when your home is looking beautiful!!! Things will settle again in a couple of weeks so don't worry it will return to normal and we will hopefully have some new fledglings.

Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Dusty for last week's thread

There are 3 levels per day deepening on how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up.

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

I'm in. As well as kitchen list, extra joint tasks for OH and I - he is an honorary flylady while he is off work, as he wants to set himself little tasks for motivation and to keep him gently moving. Hope that's ok:
    - finish report (me)
    - 2 birthday cards to send (either of us)
    - make nurse appointment (OH)
    - 3 emails (OH)
    - change bedding (either/both)
    - take down decorations in church (me)
    - review milkman order for week now OH is on gold top (me)
    - put away 3 things in office (me)
    - declutter 1 item permanently (me)

Hope the teachers among you have a good start to the week. I have work at uni Tues-Fri although as yet not too much; still waiting to hear from some students.

Thanks Natty I'm in, after a fashion, this week :D

Slight problem over the weekend, our boiler has been condemned by BG :o Its an installation issue from when I had it installed in 2010, so getting onto the people who fitted it is a priority tomorrow, closely followed by re-arranging my black-dog appointment on Tuesday morning for next week so I can concentrate on getting the boiler sorted asap! :( LuckilyI'd procrastinated over some paperwork scanning/shredding so I still have the original paperwork to hand, but it was in the "next session" folder which I was starting on tomorrow! I'd also held on to blankets which we've had since we moved in here in 2004 when there was no heating (or was it from 2000 when I moved out? I can't remember :rotfl:) which we haven't used for years probably, but I just couldn't part with them. :o

So my list is looking like this:
All week: DD revising for exams starting 21st. :(
Mon: Start food record again, Phonecall re boiler, phonecall re black dog, gas man here pm, see landlord at 5pm for cash reimbursement after I paid for BG to come out, Mr A (soap powder), Newsletter for work & put books out if possible (if not move it to Tuesday!), Meter readings, update finances, fill wheelie bin
Tue: Bin Day! Books out, clear rubbish from my room (broken toys etc from purging bedrooms)
    Wed:
    Thu: Order to submit
    Fri:
    Sat: No Ex
Sun: Ex here, money to DD.

    Misc:
    Update/sync diary (comp & book)
    Marzipan cakes
    Food inventory
    Meal/bake plan
    Toots list
    HH paperwork - planner
Walk 7miles minimum for week (Set myself a target of walking 365 miles this year ;))

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining area
    15 minutes...

    Sweep and mop the floors
    Clear and wipe the worksurfaces
    39 minutes to spare...
    Wash the units and appliances.
Give the pan cupboard a good scrub out..
Wipe over window sills and shine the taps
    Got an hour...
Sort paperwork, warranties, insurance docs, phone contracts etc into a file so they are easily accessible and make notes of when things need renewing!
    Dust and deweb

    • HHI
    • Thoroughly clean a small appliance (descale kettle/decrumb toaster for example)
    • Make sure diaries/calendars are up to date with appointments!!!
I have a feeling its going to be a hectic week as jobs roll over to the next day, and the next. Add DD no doubt stressing herself out over revising as the school keep hammering home how important the pathway exams are. DD is in set 1 for everything except PE, she always gets good exam results but is insisting that she has to put hours of revision in each day so she can get a good enough mark to put her on the pathway she needs to be on. The fact she has her next 20 years in eduction already planned out and should easily get on the right "path" means that I need to try and keep her relaxed and unstressed as when she gets stressed she forgets everything. I guess its good practice for when she sits her GCSEs though :rotfl::rotfl:

Right, I'm off to catch up on some other bits while my phone charges some more. See you all tomorrow
