Jojo it can differ for everyone when the pregnancy hormone is strong enough to be detected. Also different pregnancy tests are of a different sensitivity so some will pick up the hormone earlier. I believe the absolute earliest most people can get a bfp is 2 days after implantation as it's only once implantation has taken place that the hormone starts to be produced. The difficult thing is you don't know when implantation has taken place.

The earliest I got a bfp was 10dpo but the earlier you test the greater chance of a false negative.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
  • Sending hugs Racheylou you're not the only one! I'be planned too!! I found out yesterday my hubby's work colleague, he's 20, has just got a 17 yr old preggo! Plus my BIL has got his 19 yr old GF pregnant exactly the same time we TTC so all I keep seeing on FB are people congratulating them and how his mum has got all this baby stuff for her "grandkids" and how me and my hubby need to "hurry up!!" :( and tbh I can't sit there and congratulate someone when me and my hubby have done things differently we are both older ( well I'm 22 and he is 28) and been together three yrs we are married live, together and both have decent jobs and both drive. And it feels like it should be us announcing we are preggo not them! So you're not the only one that feels like a !!!!!. And I'm glad I'm not the only one too :)

FX for everyone and our times will come :D

And thank you for all your continued support hugs to everyone!!

Ok thanks all, will just sit tight for now!

Aw Rachylou, that really sucks, totally understandable that you feel that way though, it certainly doesn't make you a bad person, it's just the frustration and stuff like that is bound to get you down.

My sister is 4 months now, and I'm glad she's not a big user of Facebook so I don't have to deal with seeing her (we don't live anywhere near each other), which I know sounds really harsh because of course she's my sister and I love her and hope it's all going really well but still I don't think I could deal with it if it was in my face all the time.

    BTW I'm 7DPO, CD 21

Rachy you're not in the slightest bit selfish, we've all been there. I now know my sis & one of my friends are ttc, both have lo already, & if/when they get their bfp I know I'll be delighted for them, but also secretly jealous.

CD8 here, temps up & down a lot, but then my sleep pattern has been all over the place, so I guess that's affecting it.

Thanks everyone. My eyes still hurt this morning from crying. Hope no-one can tell at Mother's Day lunch. OH hasn't seen me yet either due to a night out, he's still flat out so we've not spoken since 4pm yesterday :D

I never wanted to be jealous and strangely it is more because she announced the way I wanted to - a calendar with a ring round the due date and little booties placed near it. It's not as if it was my idea, its on google as a fun way to announce but I feel like my thunder was stolen. I know I sound stupid. Facebook is only a website, announcing to people in person will be much better.

Didn't help that another friend announced an engagement yesterday either with a proud statement on FB

Hey guys. CD31, 9DPO. Was feeling so hopeful but have had my usual day 9 spotting :-( think I need to mention this to docs now as I'm sure it's too early and happens all the time.

On to cycle...I've lost count :-(

  • Hi everyone. Hope it is ok to join you? My partner and I started TTC last month. I'm 34 and have PCOS. I was also NTNP with ex-husband when I was in my early 20s about a year on and off with no success.

Got my AF at the moment which of course is disappointing but not a great surprise. I was going to try and take a casual approach to avoid stress but am a lot more disappointed than I expected and thinking I need to take things a bit more seriously, including trying to understand more about cycles and ovulation.

I have a lovely step-daughter who is 4. She was conceived very quickly, despite partner's ex also having PCOS by some rather odd coincidence. So I'm hoping there are no difficulties on his side.

So hello all :) First question: I saw on a thread on another forum that ovulation tests may not be accurate for people with PCOS, never heard this before. Does anyone know? And where do people buy them without spending a fortune? Thanks
