clarabell - did you get a definite OV? Sorry to hear about feeling so mixed up, I can sympathise massively.

Had a high temp this morning so technically no AF yet but way, way too much spotting to just be implantation.

    Onwards & upwards :)

    Hi Cats2012

No I didn't have a positive opk, it was my first month using the digital CB ones but I missed a day of testing when I was away for the weekend so had convinced myself that I had missed my surge as all I was getting was leak flashing and what I would have said was ov cramps. Saying that, I'm not convinced I've had a def pos since coming off my pill. I've had dark lines on the strip tests but not completely as dark as the test line. My problem is knowing when to test for ov cause my cycles length keeps changing. Really thought it would have settled down by now!

Sorry to everyone having a rubbish time, especially with Mother's Day this weekend.

My AF just finished today so I'll be back on the opks shortly and hopefully this might be out month. Had some !!!!!! news today, my dad has been having treatment for cancer and his most recent scan showed that it's spread and they are now talking about managing it rather than curing it. I'm a bit in shock at the mo and feel so selfish as I just keep thinking I really want my dad to have a grandchild before anything happens. I should be focused on him and not what I want! But I can't help it!

Anyway sorry that was rather depressing. I was planning to make an appointment with the doctor in the next few weeks but I'm not sure now, I'm stressed enough as it is and I don't know if I can go through all the fertility stuff and look after my dad properly too.

Welcome Easily I buy my opks from ebay/amazon, I think I got about 30 for £3-4.
Can I ask which one's you get? Mixed reviews on the cheapy ones but the brands are so expensive! My brain is hurting from all the options! Thanks

Easilydistracted, PCOS is a hormone disorder so opks (which detect the hormone surge before ovulation) may not be accurate for us. It's possible to have several surges in a cycle while only ovulating once, or not at all.

Having said that, I still found it worth doing the cheapies, as it can still be an indicator and helps you get to know your own body. But tracking cm and temps was a lot more accurate for me in actually showing ovulation x

Thanks Black Ribboner, that makes sense. I will have a god with the opks before as everything else sounds pretty complicated. Although I think I probably need to make sure I'm having a regular cycle first too.

  • Can I join in?

I used to post on the TTC thread back in 2010 when I was trying for my first.

I'm now 34 and trying for my third. I'm currently 4dpo, and CD 18, I think.

This is my third cycle trying. Each time I've started spotting on 5dpo. First cycle my luteal phase was just 8 days. Last cycle I eeked it out to 11 days, with spotting and cramping. My issue, I'm pretty sure is the fact I'm still breast feeding child 2. Though I was still feeding his sister when he was conceived. It was aided with agnus castus and b6, neither of which seem to be helping much this time.

Anyway, due to the early spotting and cramping I'm feeling a bit despondent. Im 4dpo and I started cramping last night.

    Sorry for the waffle!

Welcome Little Angel. I'm trying for my 2nd and on 6 months of ttc now. However my DD is unwell which has really interfered with dtd; not good when I'm due to ovulate in a day or two. I've heard breastfeeding can affect your cycle but I don't have any advice.

I just can't work the cheapies out at all, so I get the CB digi ones and always get a peak with those... I never realised what a dear business TTC is!! I must spend about £30 a month at least on opks and tests!

Can I ask which one's you get? Mixed reviews on the cheapy ones but the brands are so expensive! My brain is hurting from all the options! Thanks
