Good luck with the tests Millie

Have you been testing Tinks? Mine lasts almost a week so very different to what you're experiencing but everyone is different

Sorry to hear about your BFN Clarabell. I keep wishing I had started earlier than I did but OH keeps reminding me that we weren't quite ready then and he puts things into perspective very well, bless him.

If it helps anyone, my OH has a friend and wife who tried for years and they both used to get upset at other people's news of babies, one night the guy broke down in tears (my OH didn't know what to do). Anyway, their little miracle came without any help and just happened one day, she is one this year :j. This type of story keeps me going that it could take a while but everything is possible and it doesn't mean there is a problem.

    Thanks Rachylou1981,

My OH was more than ready, it was me who wasn't quite there :( Only because we had the Wedding coming up (married last April). In hindsight, I'd have come off before or after our honeymoon in May instead of waiting until September. I suppose I was naive and thought it would happen fairly quickly.

    xx

I think most think it will happen easy. I certainly did but I am still trying to remain positive as well especially since most people say it does take them months. I always say that we spend all our life since teens trying not to get pregnant and worry about small mishaps with missed pills etc and then when we want to, we realise it's not that simple. I guess no-one ever knows until they try and it has to be the right time so don't beat yourself up because it's better trying for longer at the right time than it happening by mistake at the wrong time.

    Hi all!

old time user here but not been around for a long time! Ive been lurking for a couple of weeks though now so thought it was time to pop back and give a little wave!

I think last time I was posting in this section was a few years back when I fell pregnant but then had a miscarriage :( so little update in a nutshell:
split up shortly after miscarriage, changed role in job, left job and got another, met a wonderful man last year and moving in together next month eek!

however, as we are both 35 and want children, I came off the pill last month and Im popping evening primrose oil like sweets cd1 until the blue line on my ov stick appears!
he thinks Im planning too much but our clock are ticking loudly!!!!

how is everyone anyway?! sexymouse - I'm so sorry to hear about poppy xxx here's hoping you will have your forever baby soon xx

    Hi ladies

Just wondered if I could join this thread. Need somewhere to go to chat about this without annoying my poor husband all the time!

Bit of background! Basically been TTC since last summer but I only started doing temps and OPKs in September, so not that long in the whole scheme of things but I'm almost 37 so I'm a bit worried.

When I first came off the pill I noticed ovulation pains for the first few months but now I don't get them at all. My temp still shifts so I'm hoping I definitely ov each month! My cycle is not regular at all. My ov day varies from between CD15 to as late as CD19.

I think we're doing everything right but I'm wondering if it would be worth going to the GP to kick things off there...just in case? Will they tell me I'm wasting their time?

I feel like everyone around me is getting pg at the drop of a hat!

Anyway, sorry for the long post! I look forward to getting to know everyone and seeing us all graduate!

    PP x

Welcome back Newcook - sorry to hear about your MC but it sounds like you are in a happier place now.

Welcome Pink Petal - definitely in the right place here. I would definitely seek help if you've been trying since last Summer, us older women can get it quicker (35+). Can't hurt to see what they suggest. Have you any proof that you started back then? Doubt they would need that but I told my GP when we were starting so it is in my medical records now. I will definitely be going to see them at 6 months of TTC

Thanks everyone. Guess it's just down to the pill then. I hadn't really considered that as my body seemed to have got back to normal very quickly. Google scared me a little which is why I posted! I should probably just be making the most of the short AF rather than worrying about it.

Thanks Rachylou. I came off the pill last summer and we weren't trying trying, just seeing what happened. It wasn't til September that we took it seriously and I looked into what I should be doing and when we should be doing it! Maybe I won't mention that to the doc though and just say Summer!

A question for anyone who has spoken to the doc about it...What generally happens at a first appointment with the GP? For some reason the thought of it makes me really nervous!!

Don't know if you can see my post from last night Rachy but we had our first appointment at the GP yesterday. I'm booked in for bloods on days 3 & 21 and DH has been referred for a sperm sample and we both have to have a chlamidyia test. After that we will be looking at further tests with a gyno.

Hi Millie, it was Pink Petal asking about the GP so there you go Pink Petal, it's all in post above what will possibly happen :)

When I went last year, it was to explain that it was my last pill prescription and to ask if there was anything I should be doing. I was advised to come off pill as soon as possible and take Folic Acid which I knew anyway. She also told me that I could get help quicker if nothing happened sooner than 1 year which is the normal length of time. This is because I am 35. I would suggest just making an appointment and discussing what you've been doing and ask for advice, you will definitely not be wasting anyone's time :)

    Hi everyone,

Not had a chance to catch up yet so hope you're all doing well. Been working like crazy the last few weeks (13 days in a row!!) so not had a chance to come on and catch up.

As for me I am on CD95 (can I be added to the list please). Still not heard when I'm having a scan done so guessing docs have forgotten about me!! Some days I feel totally fine and chill and other days just cry because I want a baby so much :(
    But anyway....

FX for everyone and baby dust to you all

    Now off to catch up
    xx
