Thank you :) hoping she is on her way!! It sounds so weird Definitely don't think I have ov this cycle. Had some period cramps on Thurs or Fri last week (days all merging into one haha) and nothing since but I have spots ALL over my face which is normally a sign. I've also been on antibiotics for a tooth absess and that's given me thrush (tmi sorry) and hubby broke his "bango string" (again tmi lol) about a month ago so not even been able to BD haha

Does anyone know how early you can start taking pregnancy tests? I think my AF should be due on 14th March, it's obvs too early yet, but how about next week? Or should I just wait and see? Would be lovely to get a BFP on the 14th as that would be our 3yr anniversary :)

The pregnancy hormone hcg takes time to build up to a detectable level. Pregnancy tests are most accurate generally from the first day of a missed period. Although you may get a positive a day or two before that.

People vary and sometimes you might not get a BFP if you test on the day your period was due as your levels are too low and you may have to wait a few days to get a positive.

With our first pregnancy we tested a week after the first day of missed period and only got a fairly faint positive.

This time we only waited 3-4 days because OV was a week early so she was actually nearly 6 weeks pregnant, so the BFP appeared almost the second the test strip hit the pee!

It's up to you when to test, but doing too early will just give you a negative regardless of whether you're pregnant or not.

Personally I'd wait til you're late before testing.

  • JoJo I agree with Freddie best to wait until after AF is due as can take a while to build up the HCG levels :) FX for you though!!

Jojo I agree with the others.

Chocolate sorry AF is messing you about, hope she arrives soon x
  • Feeling really low so had to post...

Maybe I'm weird but I've already thought about the announcement on social media about a pregnancy. All my nearest and dearest would find out from us outside of that but for the people on there, it would be a way that I've planned. Been so excited about the way we would do it.

So tonight, a friend of mine (who doesn't know about our plans or above) has announced in the exact way I wanted.

Rather than feel happy for her, I feel so jealous and heartbroken. I feel like a selfish b*tch :(

Hugs Rachel - it's quite natural to feel this way (both the planning and the jealousy). Before having my son (we struggled for a long time to have him), my friend sent me a picture message to announce, and I cried.
