I started temping last cycle, it is quite interesting. I dont tend to have a solid sleep though, i wake up a couple of times a night but it still clearly showed when i ovulated which is what i wanted to see really.

This TTC really is a lot more complicated than i'd ever had imagined. I'm sure we'll all get there in the end though!

Fertility Friend gives a fertile window of ovulation day and the 3 days before it, plus the day after which is for just in case you got ovulation slight wrong. However although sperm can last 5 days the majority last 2. This is why it's best to dtd at least every other day during the fertile window.

Whatever app you use, it should be one that will alter it's prediction of your fertile window based on your previous cycles. Also if you have irregular cycles then it's even harder to predict. This is because the days between AF arriving and ovulation is the follicular phase and between ovulation and the end of your cycle is the luteal phase. The luteal phase tends to be consistent so if your cycle changes length your ovulation date will move. That's why OPKs are useful for giving you notice of ovulation, but if temping shows your cycles and ovulation are consistent then it's a choice whether to use them. Also ovulation pain doesn't necessarily happen on ovulation day, mine occurs a day or two before, so temping is the only way to confirm ovulation.

  • CD71 over here :( so went to the doc yesterday and she said that my LH (progesterone Levels) were elevated which could point to PCOS. She is sending me for an ultrasound to see if it is PCOS or not. If it isn't she says it could just be leftover from the implant and my body is still getting used to not being on it.
Although if it is PCOS she said I can't get help until we have been trying for 12 months.
She's also told me I need to loose weight as my body is asleep and needs to be woken up so diet and exercise will help this and hopefully kick start my periods.

Welcome Alex hope your stay here is short :) my hubby (28) and I (22) have been TTC since the 8th of Oct (I know it is strange knowing the date, it is the date I had my implant removed and it's stuck in my mind haha) It's been 4 months but only 3 cycles.

FX everyone and sending baby dust to you all :D

    xx

Not strange really. I remember when we started trying because it was our wedding day! So had been trying just under a year.

Chocolatelover - good luck with the tests, hopefully it will show something that is quick to resolve itself. I need to lose weight, so have been focusing on that since the new year. It kind of helps me because it gives me something else to concentrate on, and I can pretend I am doing something useful related to TTC, which also gives me the boost to try harder (put that biscuit down!). So, I try to tell myself its a good and helpful thing ... which works some of the time :)

Oh chocolate that's pants if it is PCOS but fingers crossed you manage to conceive anyway - plenty of women do!!

Losing weight is a tricky one, I have heard it can make a real difference but it's another thing to have to worry about grrrrr!!

    Hi everyone,

I'd like to rejoin the thread, as we are officially ttc now and I'm on CD14. So, sexymouse (32), TTC#3 since 02/16

Some of you may recognise my name, as I was on this board last year, and we got our BFP in August. I sadly lost my last baby girl on the 8th November 2015 at 14 weeks gestation after it was discovered at our 12 week scan that she had anencephaly, which is a non-survivable condition. We have been given the all clear by my consultant after various physical problems that I had after my daughter's birth have finally resolved, and although I'm still grieving the loss of my daughter, my DH and I still would like to try for a rainbow baby to give my DS a sibling.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/2017

I'm very sorry Sexymouse. I do remember you, you got your BFP in the same month that we started trying again after losing our first to anencephaly.

It's awful and I'm so sorry that you've had to go through it.

Our termination was 1st July last year. But we just got our BFP last Friday.

I hope it happens for you soon.

chocolatelover93 - good luck with the tests, i know 2 women who have PCOS and they got pregnant using Clomid. One of the ladies also managed to conceive her third child without any drugs, a complete surprise.

sexymouse - so sorry to hear about your loss. Fingers crossed you'll see a BFP again soon.

I think i need something else to focus on rather than just TTC, it seems to be taking over my mind!

Hey sexymouse - so sorry to hear what you've been through but everything crossed for you.

Alex - I've booked holidays!! Admittedly holidays we wouldn't have to cancel if I got my BFP, but planning them has really helped me have another "project" to think about :)
