    Welcome Alex!!

AFM I've had 6 cycles, but mine are long so it's actually been 9 months. In those 6 we have had no pregnancies, however I've only had a definite ov on 3 of them - once i didn't seem to ov (73 days!!) and the first 2 i didn't realise how long they would be so we didn't time BD-ing right at all.

So I try to console myself that it's only been 3 real attempts...

EDIT: Forgot to add I'm 27, OH about to turn 31.

Hi Alex welcome to the group.

We've been ttc for 6 months, currently on cycle 7. No bfps in that time. I was on bc for almost 15 years prior to this, first 4 cycles were bit irregular, but seem to be getting more regular now. Just started using opks this cycle, I've been guessing a lot about when ov happens, so hopefully I'll have a bit more of an idea now.

    Hi Alex

I'm 27 too, DH is 31. We already have a three year old son. We are in our 9th cycle of trying now. Feels like it's never going to happen! Never had a positive test, but had a ton of evaps. I think we've tried everything too.

Welcome Alex I hope your stay here is short. I've just had a chemical pregnancy myself so i'm feeling a little low.

Apple you'll need to track a few of your cycles in order to know when your fertile window is, and even then you might not be 100% sure as not everyone has cycles that run like clockwork. I have a 28 day cycle and text books would suggest I'd ovulate about cd14 but i actually ovulate about cd18 which is quite late.

So download an app like Fertility Friend and track your dates, cervical mucus, and consider tracking your temps and using OPKS. However don't do all of this if it feels like too much or will stress you out, or just do some of it. In the meantime just dtd occassionally, more often when you have ewcm, until you start to know when your fertile window.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
  • So after my recent AF, I am assuming I have a 30 day cycle. I'm CD9 today. I'm not doing anything other than just a bit of internet research and chatting to friends (and you lovely people) as it's only my second month in of TTC.

Some websites are telling me that my fertile window should be from 15-17 February - does that sound right?

As I have terrible news, my boyfriend is going to be working away next Monday to Thursday
  • Oh no sorry to hear that Kynthia.

I'm using OPK daily since CD10 to work out when I ov. My cycle is irregular so I've never paid much attention to the workings of it all! DH is away until tomorrow night, and if my cycle was 28 days I would be due to ov around now... but no positive reading yet. Am also taking BBT when I wake up. We are only starting TTC but I like to plan and manage at much as possible... I have a feeling I'm going to find the whole baby thing a struggle!

Ovia is great, but not when you have irregular cycles... it works out the fertile window on whatever cycle length you put it - even when you add that they are irregular! Which is pretty unhelpful.... it doesn't use the previous AF dates that you have put in.

    Thanks for the welcomes.

Rachylou1981 - on Ovia it gives me 5 fertile days as I think sperm can live for up to 5-7 days. They say its best to DTD as many times as you can on the run up to OV. Just make sure you get a lot in this weekend ;)

What would you all class as a regular cycle? When i first came off the pill my cycle was 29 days for 2 months, now it varies from 26-32 with one long 41 day cycle after my chemical pregnancy. So OPK's have actually been very helpful.

    Welcome Alex !

I'm 38, OH 35 and we'be been trying since May. I hadn't calculated the number of cycles recently and was a bit surprised (not in a good way!) to realise that I'm in the middle of cycle 10. Rather annoying!!

For me, I have a fairly regular cycle, around 27-28 days (but I've been charting for over a year and on occasion it has been as short as 25 days and as long as 31, but this is not often). I think I OV usually around day 13/14 - again, seems fairly standard. No BPFs - not even a hint - in that time! Hence why I'm starting on the tests now (blood tests, scan, etc.).

Kynthia - sending hugs you way.

Rachylou - I echo Alex - just have lots of fun this weekend :)
  • Fun weekend it is then. Oh and it helps that it's valentines

This is nice to have all got chatting again, and to have a bit of background. We're all in this together.

I forgot it was Valentines' ha!! We have never celebrated it and actually have a friend staying.

I'm nice and chilled at the moment, on CD5 and AF has finished. PLanning to start OPKs around CD 15 as although I see to ov c.CD30 I still hold out hope that they might get shorter.

Thyroid check up blood tests are 26th Feb and next fertile window predicted to be just after that.

Still temping in the meantime, which I find geekily interesting!!
