  • Congratulations Freddie :j

My AF is hideous. I was always on some kind of birth control to control that rather than for contraception. I am so heavy and going to the toilet can look like a horror movie. Sorry for the TMI. I feel so drained. Hope it's over soon!

I am hoping that this all means my body is quite normal again though.

Omg Rachy I'm with you. Same here. I'd forgotten how horrible it was! Only had one or two like this since coming off the pill so am consoling myself with the fact it is at least "normal" - even if normal is horrendous!!

It's 6.52 and I can't sleep due to the pain so am on the sofa with a hot water bottle. Fun times!

CD7 1st opk today - very faint line. I think I normally ov around cd14 - would you normally start to see faint line about a week before ov??

Cats & Rachy sorry AF is being such a witch. Mine have actually been a lot lighter & shorter since I came off bc. My AFs used to be horrendous, even on the pill. For the last 4 years I was on the mini pill & had no AF at all, so it's while it's nice they're not as bad now, I do kinda worry it's a sign the pill hasn't completely left my system yet.

I was on the depo injection for 10 years so had no AF at all, I loved it but it made my bones brittle so I was told I had to stop. My friends used to say I was messing with nature but unless you have periods like mine, then you can never understand. They came back straight away when I came off that and had to go on to the pill again.

I think AF has ended today, which is a relief.

I had a good drink this weekend too, quite hungover today, can safely say that at this point in time I could give it up for 9 months easily

Congrats Freddie! fingers crossed for a sticky bean!

AFM, I have a question - how often do you DTD when in your fertile window? I've read articles that say every other day is enough where some say the more the better!

Rachy I used to be on depo injection too, my friends said exactly the same thing, but I'm with you - was way better than having AF.

Jonesy apparently having sex daily can decrease sperm quality, so that's why some suggest eod. We tend to have sex eod in the week leading up to ov, & then every day for a few days around ov, but that's just what works for us

We tried a bit of everything when we were trying, our successful month we started on cd9 and dtd two days in a row, break for a day, two days dtd in a row, break and then dtd again... Was a tiring month. I'm not sure if I 'believe' any way is better really, I think you just have to do what you can, when you can. Good luck

    Congratulations Freddie :)

  • Hope someone can help... I'm really confused!

Started my AF on Tuesday (first one since coming off mirena coil!) I bled for 4 days. So by Friday night totally clear. Now I'm confused about my ' fertile window'... Now I know that everyone is different depending on cycle length...and as I've only had that one AF I'm not sure my cycle length... But say I was ' average' how many days after AF started would my fertile window be? I used a period tracker app it's saying its now...? Already? Reason I ask is my partner and I are not DTD every day... Probably only twice a week. But I don't want to ' miss the boat'...?

    Any advice would be great

For a few cycles we did every other day for as much of the month as possible - especially in the fertile window or once EWCM was appearing. Then possibly doing an extra one if she thought OV was happening that day.

Last cycle we tried every two days instead, incase that worked better.

When we actually conceived there'd been a 6 day gap with no BDing due to ill health. We BD'd straight after our trip to A&E, as she felt like OV was happening. Must have caught it! Despite the fact we thought we'd have no chance at all this month.
