Well I hope everyone here has a lovely Valentine's Weekend. We've done all we can for this month so any shenanigans will be purely for fun!
By the way, is anyone else here drinking alcohol at all? I sort of try not to around my fertile days and then when I get my AF I feel it's ok to drink again so I'm kind of 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.0 -
Im the same, might have a couple of glasses of wine at the weekend from AF to Ovulation then I'll avoid it until AF shows again.TTC since September 20150

Hi all
So the good news I'm on cd26 and started spotting so expecting Af in full flow today or tomorrow. Cd26 almost puts me on a normal cycle.
Bad news I've been doing ov sticks since cd8 and no positive so I'm guessing I'm not ovulating
My Dh seems to have taken it bad but won't go doctors for us to do tests. How do I convince him to come!?0 -
Thanks Chocolate & Alex. So, just a quick update - had the blood tests this morning and the nurse was amazing! Was in and out in just a few minutes and blood was taken super easily.
Re: alcohol - when we first started tic, I was quite aware of not drinking too much during the tww. However, 9 months later I am far less cautious! I don't go crazy, but do continue to enjoy my wine no matter where I am in my cycle. I have the utmost respect for those who decide to abstain or significantly cut back, but for me for now, I enjoy my wine far too much! I think you just have to do whatever you feel comfortable with - and whatever stresses you the least
Midget - I have had months where the OPK don't show a peak, but some months it does - and there doesn't seem to be any pattern, so I wouldn't assume just yet that you're not OV. Re: your OH - do you think if you started doing some tests that he would join in??

I'm so sorry for you ladies that have suffered losses. I hope you get the support you need.
Alex and Jojo you can abstain during the tww if you want but there is no need. After ovulation it's weeks before the baby is connected to your blood supply so you are fine to drink as normal and take many medications if you get ill (especially plain paracetamol which you can take while pregnant). It would drive me made spending half of every month restricting myself from normal things as if I was pregnant, when I'm generally not.
Keele I hope your blood results come back good. The 21 day blood test doesn't need to be on cd21, I can't remember if ideally it's supposed to be 7 dpo or 7 days before AF but I'm sure it's one of them. It's called a 21 day test as in a text book 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 that's when it falls. Some GPs don't realise that.
Midget do you test once a day as it's possible you have a short surge and missed it, or your urine isn't concentrated enough, or you have a bad batch of tests. Do you temp as a temperature surge is one of the strongest indications of ovulation we can get ourselves.
This is my first cycle after my chemical pregnancy and I'm not sure I ovulated. Although I got a peak on my cbfm (which was a day later than normal and I already ovulate late for my cycle length) I didn't get much cm and I haven't had a temperature spike for tge four days after the peak. I need another couple of days' readings to be sure but I'll be gutted to have not even had a chance this month.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Keekee fingers crossed for your tests! It is supposed to be 7 dpo ish I think as I had mine around day 30 for my cycle which was actually too early as it turned out but hey.
Midget if you're not sure about ov I can't recommend temping enough. I put it off for months as I thought it would be too much stress but I now feel 10 x more relaxed knowing I am tracking the most definitive sign.
AFM am on CD10 at the min so still 2.5 weeks until my fertile time! So just chilling out and having fun :-)
As for drinking I cut back hugely in our first few months but started to get bitter about missing out when I wasn't getting preg so now I just drink as normal to be honest! Esp before ov. I was never a binge drinker though but for example we shared 2 bottles of wine between 3 of us last night as I have a friend staying :-) and we had a cocktail mid afternoon after some beauty treatments heheOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

I'm so confused, ovia initially predicted last week as fertile but then I amended the cycle length (mine is irregular) and it was due to be this week instead. I've been using opks and not yet had a positive (one day I had a faint line) but my cm seems to have been ew and my bbt dropped slightly the last few days so now ovia has changed my fertile window back to last week and it looks like I've missed it.
Going to keep doing the opks and bbt anyway to keep tracking to see what happens. I've also made a dr app as I've got hypothyroidism and PCOS so chances are already against us and the Gynae said to go back when we start trying.
I'm also not abstaining from alcohol but I rarely drink anyway as I'm trying to lose some weight before I hopefully manage to conceive!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Psycho ovia is messing with my fertile window as well this cycle, keeps shifting it forward for no good reason, all my signs so far make me think it might actually be a bit later this time. So frustrating, I guess we may just keep bding & hope. I have underactive thyroid as well, though I think it's pretty stable atm so fx it didn't affect fertility too much.
When it comes to alcohol, I'm in the same boat as cats, I think for me, if I was still abstaining, it really would feel like ttc was talking over my whole life. But that's just me, I really believe you have to do whatever is right for you, whatever point you are at.0
