Morning lovelies!

how is everyone today?

so CD38, feeling crappy, bloated, sore bb, cm, tiredness.....but bfn and no af. Driving me crazy!


havent told OH either, dont want to get him excited just in case it is nothing, he doesnt understand the ttc journey that much, thinks im crazy I take my bbt every morning...doesnt understand! haha

3dpo, had a cold for days and hubby had one the week before that so holding out for a miracle having only DTD on the day of o. I can't believe we are on to cycle 4 if this doesn't work, its gone so quickly. I'll be honest and say I'm bored of sex already :rotfl: the sort of intimacy we prefer doesn't have the possibility of getting me pregnant! If we catch next cycle I'm probably going to have to miss my best friends wedding

I'm feeling a bit up and down I suppose. TMI warning! This AF has been about twice as heavy as usual and I've had some impressive cramps and clotting Obviously this and the fact that it's early have had me googling like mad but I'm still confused.


I'm going to buy some kind of OPK, not the cheap kind (sorry :money: ) so does anyone have any recommendations?

This kind of relates to something I was thinking yesterday. This is obviously MSE, and I think I’m fairly good with money these days but we have just bought a £25 phone case for DH because it supposedly reduces radiation which might affect his man bits. I’ve also bought some fertility jewellery because the stones are supposed to improve fertility. I’ve also had a few sessions of (expensive) acupuncture. Then there’s the CBFM, all the sticks, vitamins, special lubricant...

Do you try to be moneysaving about it all, or just spend whatever you want/need to?

Incidentally chickp, I find my CBFM so easy to use but this month I'm giving the cheapies a go because we have spent so much on the other things I mentioned above.

I use the cheap OPK from amazon, great reviews and I they work for me...I also track my BBT and use the Ovia fertility app and they all seem to tie up right.

I started off spending loads on OPK and Preg tests from Boots, Clearblue dig opks etc but 5 months in I'm using ICs and my cheapo thermometer for temping until Day 13 (yest) and then CB OPKs til smiley face for surge (today!) so only used 2 CB opks this month. On that note, off to BD! (Sorry tmi).

I've just read that sentence back... 5 months ago it would have been total nonsense to me!!!!

I use ic opks, used them properly last month and found them fine.

I'm awaiting a positive opk at the moment, the line is getting darker so I'm expecting a positive opk friday/ Saturday. Would be typical if I ov Friday or Saturday as oh is away Friday and I'm away Saturday, so will just have to try and bd Friday morning and Sunday!

I use a CBFM but bought it off eBay for £20 with 40 sticks so a bit of a bargain. It's conceive plus that is my biggest expensive. Anyone found it cheaper?

I'm not using opk, thermometers (atm), but was think about hpt. Was thinking of stocking up on some on offer/ic, but then the temptation to poas practically every day will be v hard to resist. On the other hand, if I don't have a stock, chances are I'll going straight out & buy whatever's available, not very mse. Agghh, decisions, decisions

I'm having a bit of a cringefest today... its occurred to me that I may have been mistiming BD every month so far... can I ask a question??

When you get the smiley face (static) on the CM digi opk, does that mean you are ovving that day?! Or is ov the day after?!

I ask because I'm temping for the first time and got the smiley yesterday but no temp spike today - so I'm guessing I haven't ov'd yet and prob will later...? I've been BDing on smiley face day and kind've leaving it after that... so I could've been missing ov.... feeling like an idiot!!!!

This really is a learning curve this journey! *Hugs* all

Are you using the new purple or old style pink OPKs? Before I went over to the Fertility Monitor, I used the purple ones. On those ones, when the static smiley face comes up, it just means it's picked up the hormone surge which indicates ovulation is going to happen at some point in the next 24-36 hours. Essentially, you and your man have a day and a half to catch that egg

If you want to know more, have a look at the video on the Clearblue page, even if only to hear the unbelievably smug voiceover, and equally smug actress who is definitely not a woman who is struggling to TTC. She wanders casually around her house with just a towel on, and neither she nor her man are seen indulging in unromantic, sweaty scheduled sex that we all know to be the reality of TTC! :laugh:
