Good luck ellesbelles hope its your turn v. soon xx
    Hi all,
CD1 for me today... It's now been a year and 13 cycles since we have TTC so I will be moving to the 12m+ board... I am sure I will lurk here from time to time and I wish you all get your bfp soon!!!! Xxx

Good luck chickp, I think a 10 day LP is still ok? Less than 10 isn't ideal from what I've read x

    ***self-pity alert***

After perfectly timed BD this month I have started spotting quite heavily this morning. As we managed to BD on cd13, 14 and 15, with ov detected on day 15 I couldn't help but get my hopes up. I have also had a couple of sleepless nights stressing and worrying about it this week too.

AF isn't due until Tuesday or Wednesday so I'm really not sure what's going on. If she starts tomorrow I'll only have a luteal phase of 11 days which I don't think is great? Only 10 days if this is the start today :(

I don't know if it's worth making a Drs appointment at only 6 months but I feel with my endometriosis and previous surgery it's all a bit hopeless.

Told you I was in a miserable mood!

    I'm a few pages behind so I'm off for a catch-up,

lulu that sounds like a good plan. We've done CD 8, CD 10, CD 12 and going for 13, 14, 15 and 17... subject to tiredness. Expect to ov on 14/15 I think... temps/cm/opk will tell! I've heard that the muscle spasms from O can help move things "upwards" x

I've had this conversation with OH because we were only DTD 3 times or so a month and I'd be lucky if he wanted it during my fertile week! So I told him this month it needs changing, so we've DTD on CD6 and CD8, with the intention this week of doing it on CD10, CD11, CD13, CD14 and CD16, which I think should be enough.

This is possibly a TMI question but does anybody know if the female orgasm has anything to do with conceiving? Glow keeps asking me!

Thanks for the lesson folks! :) I tend to struggle in that department so at least that's less pressure! (although the month we caught I did manage one so maybe that was it... :rotfl:)

Do you guys try to time BD for when you expect to be OV?

I've been reading some past posts. See when I was researching it online all the advice seemed to be suggesting that it's best to try every few days. When we were last trying we did every 2-3 days, she took note of her discharge and when it started being more egg whitey we made sure it was every other day. But we never tried daily.

That was based on the info I found that leaving too long can lead to sperm losing their motility, too often and the numbers don't get chance to fully recover.

Since they can survive for up to 4 days with a good chance of being able to fertilise the egg, possibly even as long as a week. Then every 2-3 days should be better than trying to blitz it.

Obviously that could be different depending on the individuals, but that was my general understanding.

There is lots of conflicting evidence unfortunately! My thinking is that we tried every 2-3 days for 5 months and no luck so now we're trying to time it more accurately. From what I remember, fertility friend says that although sperm can survive longer, in most people it only really lasts up to 3 days. Also, unless you know there is a problem with sperm count, the more times you have sex in that 3 day window (the 2 days leading up to, and the day of ovulation) the chance of pregnancy increases.

I think it really depends where you are in your journey, how much time you have to BD and whether you have any medical issues. It really is up to the individual :)

CD 2 today and I think I've bounced back pretty well thank you!

I spent most of yesterday fighting back tears and trying not to panic and google LP defects but today I feel fairly calm again. It didn't help that we got sat on a table next to a pregnant lady when we went out for a meal last night but who knows what her fertility story was.

I'm trying to remain positive. We may go to the dr this cycle or next, I'm not sure yet. I want to ask about my endometriosis pain, light periods, possible short LP and if it's worth taking anything like B6, however, I'm not sure I can face it yet! On the bright side, we are one step closer to finding out what, if anything, is going wrong.

I hope everyone manages to find some 'calm' today. Although I sometimes can't stand this process, I feel OK with it most of the time and i need to remember that!

Ok I think I have now caught up!

Everyone seems to be having a hard time right now....rubbish!!!

Big hugs for everyone. Can't believe some people, can be so harsh blurting out whether you should be having kids by now...so rude!

Well done on finding some calm chickp... I tell myself that too, that there are literally millions of people who are trying to do this as well and most days I'm ok - just need to try and keep the positivity going as when I get to the 2ww I seem to lose my mind! Going to try really hard to relax this time round though x

I'm having LP issues too chick p :(

My first cycle was 8 day LP, then last month was 10 days and I'm hoping for a further increase this month.

I started taking a vitamin b complex this cycle to see if that helps, I did o a day earlier than last cycle so am optimistic that extra day might be added to the other end of my cycle. I also had a free reflexology treatment from a friend last week and might continue with that. I've read that some gps refuse to acknowledge short LPs, believing its irrelevant they definitely seem to be more responsive to it is the states.

I thought anything less than 12 wasn't ideal as implantation can be as late as 11/12 dpo. It seems to be different depending on what you read.

3dpo, had a cold for days and hubby had one the week before that so holding out for a miracle having only DTD on the day of o. I can't believe we are on to cycle 4 if this doesn't work, its gone so quickly. I'll be honest and say I'm bored of sex already :rotfl: the sort of intimacy we prefer doesn't have the possibility of getting me pregnant! If we catch next cycle I'm probably going to have to miss my best friends wedding :(

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Jtr I'm in the exact same position! If we catch next month I would be due 2 days after a close friend's wedding and I'm an important bit of the wedding party! (Like a best woman type of thing)... agh!!!!!

Would be a nice problem to have though... *hug*
