Hugs to all that need them boo to any afs!
Not been on for a few days, been on a bit of a downer about it all! Day 18 here and no positive opk, had a darkish but not dark enough line on CD 12 but it never came to a positive and now the line is barely visible. I usually get a positive day 17 or 18 so god knows!! Think we are out for this month. Clearblue are sending my kit out on Tuesday, at least I wont have to try and interpret ics next month! On a positive note we have booked our first hol abroad for next May. I decided to book it up and if by some miracle I fall preg in next few months we can cancel but if not then we have a lovely hol to look forward to!!!0 -
Think at is on her way as there was a bit of pink today. Ah well thought I was out this month so shouldn't be too surprised, guess it will be here tomorrow bang on time0

Hello and hugs to all.
Newbie so I will keep it v. short. TTC for 3 months, currently D16 1DPO.
Can I ask a question please? Should I avoid alcohol for the time being, especially in the couple of weeks PO?
Sorry if that's a silly one, thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

MancMama4, no such thing as a silly question (genuinely
) Personally I try and watch my alcohol intake, esp. in the tww, but I don't avoid it altogether - and certainly before ovulation, I don't think there's a need to. As I understand it, the foetus doesn't start absorbing anything from its mother for a few weeks anyway - and definitely not before implantation - so drinking in those first couple of weeks is extremely unlikely to affect either the fertilised egg or your chances of a successful pregnancy. All in moderation, of course!
ps Welcome! Hope you're not here for long0 -

Hey again folks. AF arrived properly yesterday, finally, so looks like I'm on a c.32 day cycle, which is fine. Hen do this weekend so planning to make the most of the drinks and general fun and then focus on June's opportunity in a couple of weeks.
Hugs to all xxOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Thank you BR for the response, I am going for a meal with the Inlaws on Saturday night and we normally have a few drinks with them and didn't want to put up with the "knowing looks" and endless questions... their intentions are good and I know they are just excitable (married for 3 years now and I'm 34 so think they have drawn their own conclusions that we are trying...) but we don't need the pressure!
Loving the support and positivity on here, I've been lurking for a while.... its nice to be able to read posts from like-minded people. Thanks again.MancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -
Welcome to all the newbies, lovely to meet you all. Hopefully your stay here will be short. There's no such thing as oversharing, or TMI - as yet
DH saw on my Glow app that my peak fertile day next cycle is my birthday. I was hoping he'd arrange a nice day out, but he reckons we should do BD, and then get on with the day. So, that's unromantic scheduled BD first thing on my birthday, then the celebrations can begin
Please excuse the upcoming rant, ladies. I hate Jeremy Kyle. He's a ghastly man who completely preys on vulnerable people and makes some sort of showcase of their worst moments. If he genuinely wanted to help, there would be better ways than humiliating them on national TV.
I've put the TV on this afternoon and seen "Jeremy Kyle's Emergency Room", where Jezza accompanies people with health problems as they meet doctors to discuss their health. Today's guest was a lady who's spent 5 months TTC with no luck. After she had various tests, there was no scary reason for the TTC taking so long, so Jeremy Kyle took held her hand and patronisingly said "Just chill and it'll happen". At that point, I wished I had one of those TVs from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory where you could reach inside and touch whatever's on the TV. Because I wanted to reach in and slap Jeremy Kyle. "Just chill"? I know we've discussed this so many times - you can't find two words that make your average TTC lady turn into a homicidal maniac quicker than "just chill". Mr Kyle, you're an even bigger idiot than I thought © Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -
Just chill??!?! How utterly infuriating!! Not to mention insensitive... good old Jezza (not).
I've been scrolling back a few weeks reading all of your stories, I don't really understand all of the TTC jargon so have been checking the pinned post a lot!
Everyone seems so nice and its clear how much you all deserve this to happen. Sending lots of love and positivity everybody's way :TMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -
I'm so glad I didn't see that episode Cuilean! I'm thinking of submitting a Buzzfeed article entitled "what not to say to people trying for a baby" as well as "what not to say to those who have miscarried". I tell you what, if I hear anyone say "just relax" or "you're going to be a great mum when it happens again" I will kill them!
I'm telling my dad about the mc later, this will be fun.Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016
