Hi All
Been lurking on here & wanted to say hi :hello:
After years of been unsure about kids, it feels like there's been a eureka moment, so hubby & I have agreed it's finally time to ttc :j To say I'm excited is an understatement, but trying not to tell anyone atm, so will be lovely to be able to chat on here.
So here's my story:
I'm 33, been married for just over a year & ttc #1.
I came off my pill a few weeks, so am trying to be sensible & wait until after my first period, but tbh I'm really desperate to just get started ttc, the biological clock is ticking very loudly atm lol. I've been on various types of hormonal contraception for almost 15 years, so I'm hoping it won't take too long for my cycle to get back to some kind of normality.
Right now, I'm trying to focus on getting myself as healthy as possible. I've got a few health issues, nothing serious, but I'm on daily meds, so think I'll schedule GP appointment to discuss any issues. Just bought some prenatal vitamins & supplements, so going to get started on those. I don't smoke, so apart from eating healthy & cutting back on alcohol, is there anything to consider??

flutterby so sorry about your mc. Hopefully your holiday will give you a chance to spend time together and support each other.
BR it's my birthday in 3 weeks and thought we might be pregnant by now too.
Cuilean I have taught yr 6 but have littlies this year so they are more likely to write it in snot :rotfl:
Congratulations T-sil :j I love reading about how people got their bfp
Welcome angel  I have also read that cutting down caffeine can help. Something like the equivalent of 2 cups a day but advice varies from place to place.
And as for me, cd1 today. Feeling a bit ambivalent about it at the moment. I think my emotions have been worn out already this month so I feel a bit flat. It's also 4 days early and has started straight away which is unusual for me.
Does anyone know anything about early periods? I did a bit of googling but not really sure. I just bought a thermometer from amazon so hopefully that and the clearblue trial might give me a better idea of what's going on.
Onto cycle 5 then...:(0 -
Chickp, I did specialist ICT teaching for every year group last year. I was amazed at how unaware of snot the small people are. I would be trying so hard not to retch while instructing them on how to use the mouse accurately, while making a mental note to grab the antibacterial wipes from the cleaner before the year 5s arrived for their lesson
Sorry about CD1, and AF mucking you about. Hopefully if it started suddenly and quickly, it'll be over quickly too.
Welcome Angel, enjoy the madness. Are you keeping track of your cycle at all? That's a good place to start.© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -
Angel, welcome! Hope your body settles quickly into a decent cycle now you're off the pill, mine seemed to take forever, but nothing compared to the wait I then accidentally instilled before we got to here!
Sorry for cd1 chickp, wine is calling!
I've got a slightly poorly OH, hoping he can feel better soon as I am so close to ovulating and when I eventually remember to pee in a mug I might even get a positive opk!0 -
Hi angel, am same age as you, know what you mean about that ticking clock!
Flutterby, so sorry to read about your mc, hugs x
Fx for + opkbsoon ncs!
Had line on opk yesterday that wasn't string enough to be positive and then nothing today but temp still down?! Was weird to purposely have unprotected sex :rotfl: but nice to be on that journey.
Come on the bfps!
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

Thanks folks
Chickp, I'd heard about cutting back on caffeine too, but got confused with all the different advice about. I don't drink coffee, but I do like my cups of tea, normally I'd have about 3-4 cups a day. I guess I should maybe try to cut that back a bit.
Cuilean, this is my first month off pill, so trying to keep a really close eye on my cycle. I'm convinced I've been ovulating this week (felt dull ache in my right side, discharge very clear & higher sex drive than normal), but then again, I've maybe just convinced myself that I'm ovulating cos I really want to be lol.
Good luck to all trying0 -
Angel (and anyone else fed up with the barrage of contradicting advice out there) I've just read Expecting Better by Emily Oster, which presents the facts, where available, then shows how she has come to conclusions about the best thing to do, allowing the reader to come up with their own conclusions as well. Helped set my mind at rest for coffee and hair dye, two things which are pretty intrinsic to my identity! I've got Bumpology next on my list, which is supposed to be similar.
Here I've got a poorly OH and an almost positive opk, I'm not sure I'll catch the surge, because shift work means I can't always test at the best times of day, so I have to assume I am roughly about to ov, unless I actually do manage to produce a positive one which would confirm it! Trying not to pressure poor OH, but hoping he feels better tonight!0 -
CD25 and BFN. So much for the March baby theory! Time to hit the supermarket for wine and chocolate and drink solidly until AF arrives  Feel free to join me vicariously, ladies© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0

I'm on CD 32 now, still tiny amounts of spotting when wiping (sorry TMI) but no more. I've never just wanted the cramps to appear more
just want to move on to next month!!
Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

Hi ladies, sorry to have been AWOL. I've been catching up but you lot have been very talkative!
Hugs for BFNs, AFs, irritating OHs, etc.
Best of luck to those taking a step back. I hope to not see you on here again unless it's for an announcement!
It's two weeks today since the scan confirmed the worst. I stopped bleeding about a week ago as well. I'm just dealing with the emotional bit now. I'm a bit of a mess to be honest. I'm not depressed but it's made me hate every part of my body/self, I'm so angry (although this is down to being surrounded by people with kids who definitely don't deserve them!). I'm trying to get back to normality but it's not really happening. I've not cried since last Tuesday but I do feel gloomy. Told OH the other day I wanted to give up and he said no because he knows I don't mean it.
Hope everyone is well. xxOur Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016
