I hate how everyone expects you to have a child right away. Since me and DH got married in February it's all everyone asks "baby next", "won't be long until you're a mummy". Argh shh and stop putting so much pressure on me.0

Toots, we were at the mother in law's at the weekend, and she somewhat drunkenly told the tale of how her mother in law broke her heart by pestering her to have children from the minute she was married. This story was punctuated by repeated insistence that "It's why I'd never pressure any of my own kids to have children". Except we get that story at least once a month, usually when she's half way through a bottle of wine, and it's such a thinly veiled demand for grandchildren that even the family friends who were there called her on it. So tempting to just shout "I'm trying my bl**dy best, woman!"
Lulu, I'm sorry it's so raw, big hugs to you. My sister in law lost two babies - one was early on, one was much later and almost viable (I hate that word). She made memory boxes for each, wrote a letter to the baby and put the scan photos and bits she'd bought into the box. Would it help to do something like that? She still quietly celebrates what would have been their birthdays. It gave her and her husband a bit of closure and let them move on. They did eventually go on to have a beautiful little girl, who loves nothing more than visiting us and playing with the manky dog toys, much to her mother's horror :rotfl:© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -

Hugs lulu, I'm so sorry to hear that you are so low. I hope your oh is looking after you as much as possible x
Cuilean, I'll make yours a doubl hun and throw in an umbrella for good measure. April is just such a better month for birthing anyway
Rubbish day here, did all my homework on opks, knew no morning testing, knew line had to be dark etc...never read anything about it being over in a day! Got that line on Monday, assumed Tuesday would be darker only for it to dwindle to nothing and I think FF will deem today's temp shift as ovulation when I record tomorrow
I hope I'm wrong as if I'm not I'm pretty sure I'm out, we did BD yesterday morning but guess it really depends! That was only CD 11 as well so I'll have to double up tests next month. Then there were two pregnancy announcements that made me feel a little deflated, I have so much admiration for the long term ladies, how you don't lose your minds I will never know.
But, on the positive side, dh is 100% on board and has been spoken to his boss about going pt in the future and I'm so happy and excited to be on this journey with him.
Fingers crossed to all those in with a chance, more alcohol to everyone else
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

I think I probably did ov yesterday as today's opk is a total negative. I am guessing, therefore that I am 1DPO. One last attempt to BD tonight, might just catch the tail end of something, but I am now in my first ever wanted tww!
Hugs Lulu, I don't have anything clever or good to say, just that there is no right way to feel with this stuff.
Ta for lists too Kellykins. Quite exciting to see my name in there at long last0 -
Hugs lulu. It's such a horrible thing, and so unfair. Try not to hate yourself - miscarriage is such a common thing, it's not a sign that something's horribly wrong with your body. I know it's difficult not to focus on the worst and I can't imagine how you must be feeling, but know we're thinking of you xx
Commiserations Cuilean and chickp on bfn/AF, that sucks. Everything crossed for a bumper batch of April bubbas!
Good luck to everyone in the tww
Welcome Angel and all the other newbies - may your time here be short and productive
Afm, CD47 now and still no sign of anything. I spoke to the private doctor again yesterday and she assured me that Clomid can't make things worse and that if I'm not pregnant, my period will definitely come sooner or later. She also seemed to think that the luteal phase length isn't fixed and that it's perfectly possible to ovulate but not start your period for some weeks. This goes against everything I've read, but I'm reluctant to discount someone with actual medical training! What do you all think?0 -
Big hugs Lulu, and of course everyone else.
BR, what does she mean by some weeks? I can't imagine ovulating and then not having a period for four weeks, like you say I've read the opposite everywhere else. Maybe get a second opinion?
I'm currently 2 DPO. We took a step back and only DTD twice this month, but after having a really crampy time and tonnes of EWCM I took an OV test two days ago. Huge positive on my digital and cheapie, I've never seen it so strong, so maybe the relaxed approach makes you force out big strong eggs? :rotfl:0 -
Well, she was talking about day 21 progesterone tests, which apparently I should have taken this cycle (though she never mentioned it!), as the only way to confirm ovulation or lack thereof. I pointed out that although I hadn't taken at, being at CD47 with no pregnancy and no AF surely suggests it would have been negative for ovulation? And she reckons not, I could still have ovulated when I got the positive opk almost 4 weeks ago. Can't say I'm convinced, but I guess we'll see
Yay on the strong ovulation, hopefully that's a good sign!0 -
Really sorry to hear about people feeling down due to one thing or another. Life is meant to test us, it's how we cope with these tests that determine our individual characters.
So I was just looking through FF whilst on my lunch break and it says i should be entering my fertile period Saturday, so on the off chance i text my OH and say fancy sex every day for the next week, expecting a "no, wait til the weekend" but actually got a yeah ok. lol
I'm not feeling so stressed out about conceiving this month, don't know why  but am sort of counting down the months until I make an appointment with the nurse to discuss my fertility or lack of, i think i might feel a bit better about things once i've spoken to a professional about it, but they said after 12 months of trying, so that's august for us, so only 2 more cycles.hi0
