  • I also cannot stress how much it helps to take a step back from the obsession of TTC. I know its hard though.

It is hard, especially when you only ovulate 4/5 times a year - there are only 12-20 days in a year when sex *might* lead to pregnancy for me, so I have to track. Which causes stress. And the more I'm told to relax, the more guilty I feel that I'm not devil-may-care about it, and the more stressed I feel. It is really horrible.

Congratulations on the bfp, hope you have a happy and healthy nine months.

As for the dtd sheet, if cycles are long enough I can see how it would be needed - we're on 22 times so far this cycle, on CD44  I just wish AF would hurry up and come, am beginning to get seriously worried. Also have my birthday coming up in a couple of weeks and I always thought I'd be pregnant by then :(

JoBatch, not much advice to offer on the potential mid-life crisis, but glad the house move is finally here - that bed sounds awesome! Sounds like your OH is really supportive as well, which is lovely :)

Chickp, glad the two of you have worked things out. Fingers crossed for the tww!

    CD4 here.

We are taking a step back. I am going to the GP today (if I can get the stupid appointment - they only let you book on the day and the line has been engaged for over an hour!) to speak about my stress and problems at work. I am looking for a new job but need some help in the meantime. This alone should stop of TTC journey for now.

Good luck to all those still awaiting their BFP. I hope you don't have long to wait.

    Big congrats t-sil.

I think we are going to take a step back for now, for this month at least, and maybe just go for NTNP. I'm a really anxious person, and this whole thing is not helping!

    Good luck to everyone.

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I know it's been mentioned on this thread before so hope it's ok to ask.

I sadly had a miscarriage just over 2 weeks ago. The bleeding has finally stopped (6days ago). Before the MC my next period would be due ~29th June. We are going away on holiday all inclusive on 26th June for a week. I was going to ask the Dr for norethisterone to delay my period so it wouldn't spoil my holiday.

Thing is now I'm not sure when my next period will appear.... most things I've read say it will be 4-6wks after the MC, but is that after the bleeding stops or when it actually happened (when I first noticed bleeding?)?

So do I make an appt with Dr to ask for the norethisterone or just hope that my period won't arrive til after holiday? We want to TTC again, but will wait til I have a period first anyway so taking the norethisterone shouldn't have an effect on that, or so I think.

Thanks for letting me waffle! x

Cats - I don't! Or at least not very well. This thread helps, as does having supportive friends and family (I'm very open about what's happening and most of the time people are great).

Flutterby, I'm so sorry. My period came about 31 days after I started miscarrying, if that helps. In your shoes I think I'd be wary of messing about with hormones too much, but if it means you'll enjoy your holiday more and get some proper down time, it might be worth it. Hugs.

Just catching up on my phone on lunch break. Big congrats t-sil!

JoBatch - yachting, wow! That's a bit more interesting than the hobbies of anyone I know!

Supposedly I'm due to be ovulating in a few days, so BDing regularly, however I usually have a long cycle and then a short one, as this is supposed to be the short one, we could well have missed it already, will have to wait and see!

Another day, another Facebook announcement accompanied by a first scan photo. I'll go back and like it when I'm done writing this, by which time my inner green eyed monster should have dissipated and I can genuinely wish my friend congratulations.

Today is the first day I could test, but I'm going to give it a couple more days. I can use the PG tests in the Clearblue kit then, which will make a change from the ICs. Variety is the spice of life, and all that.

Many congrats, T-Sil. Love hearing all the methods which finally get the BFP, so thank you for sharing.

JoBatch, I feel I may share your sense of humour. This is what I get for working with children. One of my year 6 students honoured me by coming in after a game of football in the middle of the hottest day of the term, and wrote "My teacher is the best" with the sweat from his socks. Anyone who's experienced the joys of year 6 boys will tell you that that's the equivalent of receiving an Oscar. I wanted to photograph it for posterity. My non teacher friends think it's gross, but what do they know?

Aileth and MovingUp, I hope that taking a step back works for you. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Flutterby, I'm so sorry about the MC. I hope things settle down quickly for you so that you can get back to TTC when you're ready. Enjoy your holiday :)

Cats, we're actually all insane as a result of TTC. We just hide it really well ;)

Cuilean, I suspect we do :-)

Flutterby, sorry to hear about your mc - it sucks.

Jellybox - yeah, I'm a bit random; I'm also in the fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on the week!) position of having some pretty good perks through my employer, which I haven't had chance to properly abuse until now :-) ive got a bit of free time which means cheap sailing and free education courses and a variety of other subsidised activities.

Flutterby - so sorry about your m/c. I know it varies from person to person but mine was about 5 weeks after my m/c.

Cuilean, I am def insane from ttc - you do learn to hide it well tho lol

CD 16 here, no positive opk yet! Waiting for my call from Clearblue - sounds like it is going to be anything less than subtle taking the pee to the p.o!! lol
