As I understand it (hopefully correctly!) it's WEEKS+DAYS since the first day of your last period. Your EDD is based on that, not the date of ovulation (which confused me initially!).

Devildolly, don't give up yet! Maybe it was piles or something equally grim? Apparently they're quite common.

Could someone explain to me what all the numbers are for? What does 3+5 mean exactly?

3+5 means 3 weeks and 5 days pregnant (by doctors count, which in reality means you conceived 1 week and 5 days ago).

Devil Dolly - are you counting the 3+5 in doctors count, if so you're 12PO so it could be implantation bleeding. I read some people do get a +ve on a test before imp has fully happened.

We are also being very cautious - I'm 4 + 1 and not using the b word, it is currently the tiny mass of cells in my uterus, said in a cute and loving voice. But just in case.

Numbers show how far along the pregnancy is, in weeks and days, from the start of your last period/2 weeks before ovulation - so 3+5 is three weeks, 5 days in.

Devildolly, that's really fantastic news and I echo others in saying spotting doesn't necessarily mean anything - I can understand the worry though, I'd be the same. Everything crossed this is super sticky x

Ellesbelles, I've definitely had to get my head round the date thing - I was planning Christmas and in-law negotiation too My new goal is to deliver before the big three-oh next year - I thought I'd have loads of time, but it's not exactly working out that way

Just popping into say to DevilDolly that I had bleeding/spotting for the first 6 weeks but pregnancy is progressing well and am now 13+4. It's very common.

Haha I get that too Rambo, I've called it a baby about three times and it freaks me out! I've started calling it Nemo and I sing "just keep swimming" to myself when I get anxious! You all knew at the start of this journey that I was a nutcase! :rotfl::rotfl:

We called the baby Sesame Seed for the first few weeks as that is how big it was when we found out we were expecting!

Congrats to all that have had their BFP this month and hope they are super sticky.

Me and my husband are on cycle 9 this month so understand the frustrations, the nurse at my gp (I went for a smear test and was asked if i could be pregnant and ended up telling her my struggles) has told me to come back if i'm still not pregnant after we've been trying for 12 months so getting close to that now and starting to feel a bit anxious about it.

We started NTNP in september (or that's what he thought anyway!) expecting to catch pretty easily but obviously it never happened, then was told his cousin was pregnant in the october after only 2 months of trying. I was really pleased for her as she has PCOS and was told at 16 that she may never be able to have children and was expecting us to have babies growing up together really close in age. Yeah...... that hasn't happened and her baby shower is next month as she's due in July. Then to top it off another family member has announced her pregnancy and will be due in November!!!

Anyhoo i'm on cycle day 9 and am tracking with fertility friend, we go on holiday for a week sunday and FF says this is my peak week so gonna try for once or twice a day while away and if i don't catch this month i may just hide in a dark room and cry.

Sorry this has turned into a right rant/ speech but we haven't told anyone we're trying as i've always been anti kids though i have a sneaky suspicion hubby has told his aunt as the "so when are you gonna have a baby?" questions have stopped all of a sudden.

I've driving myself mad today trying to spot ovulation - ridiculously early at CD11, but it's 5 days since taking the last Clomid and ewcm on Monday left me all giddy and unsettled Have had the tiniest bit of ewcm again today and nagging backache all afternoon - which is probably just backache, but my gosh it's hard not to overthink these things!

We only had sex on count day 11 this month, and you know where that got me, so you never know. Good luck.
