  • This is quite addictive. Whilst waiting for the bath to run. I have
    Piece of cardboard binned
    Neatly folded paper bag-recycled
Dragonfly microscope slide-in bag to take to work
    Random metal rivet- binned

Frogletina. I think you could store all the DVDs on an external hard drive. I don't personally know how to do this but someone at work does it to send to her boy in the forces.

Will update signature when not on phone
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D

wardrobe gutted and filleted ala KonMari :D

22-25. 4 bin bags of clothes to charity shop and dropped off too!
    26. 1 x bin bag of rags (mostly old work uniform) to cs
    27. 1x bin bag of stuff for bin
    28. 1 x bag of better things to try at dress exchange shop.

Frogletina. I think you could store all the DVDs on an external hard drive.

Thank you for the idea but I don't think it would work for me. I'm not very technical minded for one reason, and they are video tapes not DVDs. Also I don't really like to watch films on my laptop.

I'd like to reduce the number of videos that I have, but find it hard to decide which ones I can let go of.

    I have carpet :j:j.
Carpet was laid this afternoon, and looks lovely. It seems, however, that while he was doing it,the guy has accidentally broken the bedframe that was left in there.Near the bolt keeping bedhead attached to the bed legs, there was a new small-ish vertical split in the bedpost, which means bedhead can't be tightened properly.I think it also means it is no longer safe to use as a bunk-bed.We were going to seperate them anyway, but still,if ever we were going to resell,it would have been better to be in perfect condition.

Now it is time to empty the third bedroom so we can paint it on Saturday.I am looking forward to Saturday because eldest daughter is able to start moving her stuff into her new room(tidily!),as will younger daughters into theirs. Both rooms will still have "stuff" from the third room emptied into it,but at least things will start getting put in their place :j.

With work and carpetting,no decluttering today.I am looking forward to next week:two whole days off in the middle of the week to re-organise my house, and declutter.Bliss........................

Frogletina,we have something similar to this for storing DVD's,but shelves are adjustable,so could use for videos.Nice and narrow,so doesn't take up much floor space (and then you could [STRIKE]hide[/STRIKE] store something else in the cupboard

Feeling happy today about an item that left the house.

A student had asked on Freegle for a radio to be used in a student kitchen. I had a radio/tape recorder, where only the radio was still working so I sent him an email.

He arrived today, was very happy with it - said he would re-gift it after they leave the property in September. He was glad it was small enough to put in his back pack and then he cycled off home.

Now I have to decide what to do with my old tape collection! I'm sure some can go, but I don't have a working tape recorder to play the ones I want to keep.

I have something similar for my CDs and it does help as now it is full, I don't want to buy more CDs or if I do I will have to decide to give some away. I found some of these too in the cupboard which I will take to the charity shop as I'm not likely to play them again.

I really don't have any space for more furniture - the two cupboards that I have spoken about today are built in under the window sill. I am determined to clear enough clutter so that what videos are left after a cull fits in this space. I'm fed up of having half of my videos hidden behind other ones.

I would like all of my dvds in one place too - but they are split now between a drawer and the aforementioned cupboard. I could buy a storage box and store them under my coffee table but I have decided not to have things in boxes on the floor. I did think of one of those coffee tables with storage drawers to replace the one that I have and use the drawers for my DVDs.

  • I didn't get a chance to do anything yesterday. I was full of good intentions, but had one child off sick, and a few errands to do (leaving ill son with my mum while I did them). My other son returned to school after a week off though, but he was shattered when he got home.

I then decided to do some decluttering after tea, only to receive a text message reminding me about a meeting that I had to attend. Thank goodness for my mum, willing to look after the kids again! The meeting was productive though, even if my decluttering efforts were not.

27.......... just so that I don't forget what number I'm up to! To be continued....
