  • I'd like to join too please! I've been steadily decluttering for a while, but started in earnest a couple of days ago. I tackled the living room, dining room and bathroom, and have a couple of bags for the CS, will drop them off tomorrow. I now need to turn my attention to 3 bedrooms and a small attic. I think they'll be alot harder! There's a huge bag of christmas decorations that haven't been used for a while, so I'll add them to the CS pile. I need t be ruthless when it comes to my wardrobe though, so may need to build up to that one!

Here's to a clutter free (!) new year!

I'm in. Have a whole carrier bag full of unused Christmas tree decorations this year. rather than putting them up in the loft with the rest, I'm taking them to CS on Saturday.

I think I will do that when we take the decs down on Saturday, I've got a few bits that I see every year that we don't use, but each year they just go back in the loft, this year they must go, lol!

I really need to get back into decluttering this year. Today OH and I have finished a box of biscuits, so the box can go to recycling (every little helps, lol!), and I may tackle the 'drawer of doom' again tomorrow, as I chucked all sorts in there just before Christmas to hide it away. I also need to sort the spare bedroom again, as we are having a new boiler and new radiators put in soon, so the workmen will need to get in there to do the work.

  • I'm definitely going to join in with this challenge! I started today and decluttered some drawers in the bathroom. Managed to bin/recycle a nice pile of out of date or unused toiletries. Tomorrow I'll tackle the linen closet, I know there are some old blankets, etc that can be recycled.
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

I moved from a 4 bed to a tiny 2 bed last year, still coping with the downsize. Need to get rid of lots of v gd quality stuff. I feel a bit stuck, need a kick up the rear to help me move on. I'm not going to need most of it ever again!

I've helped DD(4) tidy her room tonight, we edited her dressing up box so:

    CS
A pile of babyish mini board books, must've been at least 50 as half of them were alphabet ones ;)
    A mini mouse ears headband
2prs too small fabric ballet slippers

    To mend:
    Her mermaid outfit
A headband with a missing butterfly (found but needs attaching)
An odd bit of fabric that we were going to use as dolls clothes

    To bin:
5 foil bows she's snaffled from Xmas presents - no longer sticky
4 foam craft fairies that are in pieces and not played with
1 paper cone princess hat from nursery, squashed :o

I had a coat peg thing with 4 pegs so have attached that to her door, but low enough for her to reach, and hung the favourite dresses there, so the box isn't turfed out all over the floor each day :T

DS(almost 6) wants to do his room tomorrow too :T

    Away with the fairies

  • I'd like to join in please!

We are FINALLY moving in 2016 so want to seriously declutter in preparation:j

I made a start by going to the charity shop and dropping off 3 bin bags worth of stuff, this included 2 big coats and some unwanted Xmas presents. I didn't count it all individually and it was before the New Year so that's kick-started me:)

Tomorrow I am sending off some parcels to friends so can start my list

    1. 10 balls of wool sold to an online friend
    2. 7 balls of wool gifted to a friend

We've been suffering with the lurgy since xmas so the house is slowly becoming a mess. We have at least 2 car loads of stuff to take to the tip ie old tv and lots of packaging etc...

It can wait until the weekend though when we're hopefully feeling a bit better.

    Happy decluttering in 2015 everyone

*coughs and splutters way out of thread*
