after routinely doing a decluttering spree every half term for the past few years, my efforts seem to have ground to a halt as all of the easy stuff has already been done. So to kick start things I am setting myself the challenge of re-homing 100 items as my cupboards are full of 'just in case' things. I need to start being more ruthless.

    1. 6 ramekins from shop bought puddings
    2. 20 odd shot glass sized individual dessert pots
    3. cup& saucer from tea for one set (the teapot doesn't bounce, as I learned the hard way  )
Ah - I know that situation well! I now only have 2 ramekins but you've just reminded me of the pate dishes lurking in the cupboard.

That's another 4 to add to my decluttering total, making 20 things out today :)

    First item of 2015! :j

    1. carrier bag of bits and bobs, tat and assorted rubbish and recycling out of kitchen office area. :j:j

inc 2 glass ramekins that were holding random screws/buttons etc, into recycling. I've got a massive box of them somewhere which haven't been used in the last 5 yrs, so I'm sure I can recycle them too. Might offer them on freecycle first though in case anyone wants them for tealight holders etc for a wedding or something.

took the stair gate off upstairs last night and was going to sell it, but I've just realised that one of the pressure pad things is missing - we installed it with a bit of wood instead, but as it wouldn't necessarily be safe for someone else I'll leave it on the road for the tat men to take once the bins have gone. Won't count it till its out of the house!

I'd like to join please! I've spent the last few days finally going through bags and boxes that hadn't been unpacked since we moved in to our first home in October.

    1. Took 4 bags of clothes, books, soft toys and collectibles to the local charity shop.
    2. Took 3 bags full of cardboard to the local recycling centre.

I would love to do this but not sure I'm brave enough yet!

Paperwork - another bane of my life! Sort it little by little, I think, but with a system in place to deal with the new stuff coming in.

(I've just learned to do multiple quotes)!:)

My MIL is a master charity shopper, and kits my kiddies (and occasionally me) out in some amazing finds, but the result is they have multiples of everything.
This week we have some very smart soft brown cords for a little boy, but DS had a growth spurt, so I have just decluttered these to the mum of his slightly shorter friend :T
MIL is happy that we "share the love" so to speak, she rarely pays for then 50p for kids items.
I just need to churn them quicker. During term time they are mostly in uniform anyway...

Hello there, can I come and play?? have already done some decluttering after lurking on this thread last year, but hoping to move in the summer so really REALLY need to get this under control!

Aim to do 5 items a day, don't care if its a piece of paper or a piece of clothing, it has to go.

Just have to make sure that on any trips to CS I don't come back with more than I went with (came back with a 25 piece tea set I don't need last time:eek:)

    Good luck all

Not a particularly good day today on all levels. I managed to trip myself up and badly scraped my knee on a concrete floor but a liberal application of arnica and balm of Gilead seems to have sorted that.
Muscles are beginning to get a bit sore as I'm sitting a bit now.

Over Christmas I've been supporting a friend who's been suffering badly from depression and been taking her in and out of hospital. She was discharged from a short stay unit today (1hr drive each way), and sent home drugged up and has to sort out a meeting with a psychiatrist next Monday. I am now totally drained and feeling bad about myself because I'm internally upset about missing out on the 2 weeks of the year when I can usually lock the shutters and withdraw from the world. Why oh why do we beat ourselves up like this?? Rant over :-)

So that's my excuse for a meagre haul today of just 2 glass storage jars which are in the dishwasher waiting to get clean ready for sale/charity.
I patted myself on the back though for emptying all the individual tubes of sugar I've collected while out, as I don't take sugar in tea or coffee, into the sugar pot and binned all the resulting rubbish :rotfl:

But there is always tomorrow, onwards and upwards :D
