    4. I have three bottles of coloured nail varnish that I never wear as I usually wear clear varnish so one can go today and if I don't use the others by the end of January they can all go.

    5. I found some chemical weed killer at the back of the cupboard and I usually just use vinegar or the jet washer so I will use that up today as I'm not sure how I would dispose of it any other way.

It doesn't really count but I went through my bookmarks and deleted all the ones I don't need and added a few blogs that I recently came across.

I definitely need to join this thread! I've dabbled before but not kept up. However, this is the Year! Challenged myself to get back here within 15 minutes with a decluttered list...

16 things to leave the house:
    • 2 candles, 1 purse, 1 lip balm, 1 nail polish and 1 bangle - charity shop
    • 2 nail polishes and 1 lipstick - bin
    • 7 notebooks - work (in work bag ready for Monday)
I'd like to do the spare room and conservatory before I go back to work. The rest can then be done in smaller chunks.
  • Thanks 666Paw for suggesting Gumtree as an alternative to freecycle. I will try it this weekend as I predict there will be a fair few things needing to go and I plan to make a start when I get home tonight.

KDF - how do you do your kids clothes on eBay? bundles? or single good items? is it worth doing in jan? or is it better to wait until after next payday?

I have got stacks and stacks to get rid of, and while I'm tempted to just cs the lot, I think I should have a go at selling first

Hi- I sell the better stuff on Ebay as single items. Good photos are key. Shoes/boots are popular as are smart dresses and jumpers.

after routinely doing a decluttering spree every half term for the past few years, my efforts seem to have ground to a halt as all of the easy stuff has already been done. So to kick start things I am setting myself the challenge of re-homing 100 items as my cupboards are full of 'just in case' things. I need to start being more ruthless.

    1. 6 ramekins from shop bought puddings
    2. 20 odd shot glass sized individual dessert pots
    3. cup& saucer from tea for one set (the teapot doesn't bounce, as I learned the hard way  )

Yesterday I decluttered the bottom shelf of the coffee table and 2 drawers of the dresser.
This morning I have cleaned and tidied the kitchen drawers disposing of surplus cutlery, utensils and very out of date spices(BBE 2006).
Now that I have started I feel quite motivated to carry on.

    Hi can I join you?

We have so much stuff and it gets suffocating so I am determined to declutter!

    I will do this by:-

reading the paperback books I have and then passing them on before buying any more.

Working out which clothes I never wear/will never want to wear and get rid (I have made a start on this). Ditto shoes/boots.

Work out what is really worth ebaying in my ebay pile and get it listed. Reduce said pile by charity shopping the rest.

Take the 3 bags of clothes to the recycling point that have been in the boot of my car since the begining of december.

Do stock take of food and reduce stock pile. Menu plan to achieve this.

Have already tidied jigsaws and dvds and reduced them with M this morning. Make sure these are gifted and not sitting in the house.

Tidy all household cupboards and ditch/gift/sell anything that I haven't used for 2 years!

Stock take avon and sell on ebay/facebook to reduce stock.

    That will do for starters!
