frogletina have you tried the pound shops? I'm sure I got a pack of 5 from there, the type with the press stud on the front!

At the weekend I had a sort in my spare room. The inlaws had stayed so I had the trundle bed pulled out to make it into a double, and there it had stayed. It's all sorted back to single so there is space to move. So I had to find a home for the big duvet. I chucked all sorts of useless tat from the cupboard - and emptied a drawer. It's still a squash in there but its a good start. I plan to decorate the room this spring so that should spur me on to clear the cupboard completely. How many fleece blankets do I really need?

  • Can I join in this please. I need to de clutter badly. Have to many clothes craft items and toiletries.
I intend to only buy things I need not want. Anything I do not want I will send to the charity shop.
To reduce my crafting hoard I am going to take it back up as a hobby which will reduce the stock I have,

    Good Luck Everyone.

    21. Bag to cs with previously declared items plus a camping bowl I have no need of( have exactly what we need of matching other bowls) a camping corkscrew never used since screw caps became the thing and a flimsy camping multitool as we have better.

It sounds like I've been through the camping stuff. I haven't, these are just the escapees in the kitchen :D

Yesterday was a ‘going out’ morning so after seeing to the animals when I got back and doing a bit of cooking I didn’t get much done. However I did make sure all the shopping was properly homed once I got in and the shopping basket put back too. Not too onerous this time as it now has a designated home!:j

I’ve also made a start on folding socks and underwear in my chest of drawers. I’ve decided not to empty each drawer at the moment because usually when I make a grand gesture like that something else pops up and drags me away part way through and leaves me with yet another pile of stuff waiting to be finished. So I’ve decided to fold and put away tidily everything that’s returning from the washing and to pull out and wear the things that are loose and untidy. That way I also make sure I’m going through everything and can decide if it’s worth keeping or not.

Busy day today as I have to pick up a friend from the airport who’s coming to stay for a couple of days. So unlikely to be posting but will do my best to keep up with the thread (and the decluttering of course :rotfl:)

I love stationery and I have loads of it. However, today I pulled out all of my notebooks and realised that there are many that I am never going to use as there are others that I like much more. I have memo books, cash books, small ones, large ones, reporters notebooks, books with graph paper. Books with margins on the paper and some without. You get the picture. I've got three beautiful books wrapped up in ribbon - now perhaps I will use them as well as the others that I really like.

There are not enough hours in the day for me to do as much decluttering as I want. And the house doesn't look any tidier yet!

We could be twins, separated at birth :rotfl:

I've managed to get myself to use some of the stash by designating it to various crochet tasks - i.e. WIP, finished items with yarn used and hooks, my own variations of crochet patterns etc. As I hope to develop a crochet and crafts business I don't feel I'm 'wasting' the notebook. The psychology we have to do with ourselves...

    43. I cut open some body scrub to get the last bit out and there was loads so I put some moisturiser on my hands and then put the scrub on to make them softer. Container binned.

    44. I need to call the council to pick up a few items of carp from outside our house to take to the tip.

    45. I am going through my wardrobe again as Marie Kondo has made me evaluate what brings me joy. :D I was going to wear a black dress over some leggings today but the dress is so faded and shapeless that I am giving it to textile recycling.

May I join in please? Our house is bursting at the seams - I'm married to a hoarder husband and have 2 children who have definite hoarding tendencies. As for me, well I'm not perfect but nowhere near as bad as the others!!

Took a big Ikea bag full of stuff to the charity shop yesterday so very good start. Also on Sunday got rid of 2 black bags full from the kids bedrooms which have gone straight into the black bin - stuff not good enough for CS, broken or can't be recycled. I need to sort through the children's drawers in the living room next but that's a big job; have to break it down into phases I think!

  • Thanks guys for the advice re - what to do with old teddies.
I found Alexio's Teddy Hospital on google. Found their facebook page. Apparently they take in donations, tidy them up and send them onto child-related charities, hospices, refuge centres, etc! Sounds much better than them going into landfill or being dog toys :(
The charity shops i asked said that they dont sell them often enough so they take up valuable shelf space :( poor teds.

    Thank you for your help!
