2015 - No Clutter To Be Seen

Thank you frogletina for mentioning this thread on SPC.Can I join?I have spent alot of time today reading the thread from the beginning, and have still only got to Page 10 .
Well,we are a family of 2 adults,4 children.Living in a 3 bedroom house. It has always been too small,OH has always been a hoarder,I have fits and starts at sorting out all the "little messes",and the place looks good for a while, then things start to slide .........
In December I had the brilliant idea of having all 3 bedrooms painted, carpetted, decluttered, and kids swapped into new minimalist rooms between taking down the Christmas treee on 27th Dec,and going back to work and school on 6th Jan.Yeah.Right.......
What has actually happened is one room has been painted and carpetted, second room has been painted and its carpet won't be arriving until Tuesday,THEN we will be able to empty third room into these 2 so it can be painted, carpetted. At the moment,3 bedrooms worth of 6 people's belongings are packed into boxes, either sitting in the middle of bedroom floors,or moved to front room.We can't find half our belongings, and even clothes in wardobes have been barricaded so as to be inaccessible. There is a very heavy solid wood otterman that the 8 and nearly-6 year old have to leap over/walk across to get into their room
And then last week I decided I also wanted the skirting boards "fixed",so that will be done at some stage.
I have told kids that in their "new rooms"(all 4 kids will be moving into new bedrooms,OH and I moving into the front room downstairs),everything will have somewhere to live:if it doesn't fit into under-bed storage units,or the built-in wardobes,or chest of drawers for clothes, then it ain't stayin'.So,over the last month or so,nearly13yo DD was sorting out/boxing up stuff (she is very excited to be getting her own room). The other 3 kids I have needed to sit with one box/drawer/shelf at a time and say "Do you really need this?Do you use it?What is it?" Tis like extracting teeth.
Myself,I have trouble keeping ontop of paperwork.Every year or so I think of a brand new way of sorting/filing/keeping papers, and I end up in a muddle.Even important stuff that for years I was able to lay my hands on,I now can't find.I have spent all this week looking for a letter from HMRC so I can do my tax by the end of the month  (Will only be a 5 minute job when I can finally log on because I don't earn enough to pay tax.Have spent about 3 hours this week looking in various boxes for this darn letter).
4 kids bring home lots of letters (and duplicates) from school, and I am embarrassed to tell you how much of their drawings, letters, cards, writing, school books I keep
So,off to continue reading the other 15 pages of thread, then might start getting rid of more stuff .SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Last bit of decluttering for today. While putting my clean laundry away, 2 x tops and a hot water bottle and cover (I have another and DS and DD have one each too) (cs), old bottle nail varnish (bin).
I also folded all my carrier bags samosa style as advised over on Marie Kondo thread. Felt a bit crazy, but they look fab!

I moved from a one bed flat to a two bed house in December. The spare room will NOT become clutter central, I want it to be an office/craft room. I don't have any furniture in there yet though, looking out for second hand stuff.
I will be doing the 100 items out in a month challenge and will also be listing any items coming in, as I don't want items in exceeding items out!

My son and his family took possession of 2 lamps and a condenser tumble drier, they were very happy!!!!!
Kitchen utensils went out today and a bulb and glass salt cellar went to the bin as i dropped them.
The walls of the charity shops must be bulging with all this new stock.
