  • While giving bathroom a good clean - 2 x duck shaped photo frames tucked away in box, bought them for bathroom at last house which I moved out of in 2001, never put photos in (cs), 4 x various half used toiletries that are past best, emptied and bottles in recycling.

six pairs of Hubby's tatty undies *fling*

Some on this thread might like to go and have a read of the KonMarie Method thread - they are very similar but that thread is a little more structured. I am straddling both camps :D (as it were ;) )

Yes I'm decluttering with a lot of help from the KonMarie method but I don't have time to straddle both threads!

    Little lot for today

    88. Dead felt tips binned
89-96 books donated to library book sale
    97 pair pyjama bottoms
    98 cardigan
    99 dress
    100 suit jacket
    101 ANOTHER pair of socks

All well and truly past their prime so into the recycling bank they went.

And I've hit my first hundred!

  • Trying to get lots of decluttering done today - I have a big plastic box to collate any paper I come across today (that isn't clearly an empty envelope). Tonight I will sit down with my filing box, the shredder, recycling bag and go through it all with a glass of Baileys.

Right, off to check on the washing, and put some ice cubes in the freezer.

  • I've noticed several posters mention that they bin tatty old undies and T-shirts etc. Most charity shops are glad of 'rags' so long as they are clean and bagged up separately from the usual donations and the bag clearly labelled (to save them having to waste time going through them). They have contracts with rag-collectors who pay them for their 'rubbish'. All my local CSs welcome such donations, some even have posters in the windows asking for them.
  • School have done well out of me this week!
    Two bags of books.
    One bag of Duplo.
    One bag of stickle bricks.
    One bag of cars.
    One bag of trains.
    Some dressing up clothes.
    A puzzle.
    A tablecloth.

Tomorrow we will be taking 3 bags of clothing and 2 bags of shoes to the recycling bank.

Have also decluttered/recycled 2 bags of paper and 2 of plastics.

    Phew!

I haven't been able to keep up with you all this week, I'm afraid, but it appears you're all going great guns! :)
I plan on resuming de-cluttering this evening....
  • Afternoon all.
Finally got around to sorting TV cabinet. 7 x videos and 8 x DVDs (cs), plus a few cardboard sleeves and useless leaflets from ones that are staying (rc). Couple to go back to their original owners. More room in there and much tidier/dust free now.
Also made a good start on a bit of paper clutter on side in kitchen, but that's still a work in progress :).
