I tackled a few of the bundles of stuff in 12yo daughter's room.

At the end of her bed was her sewing machine, and two plastic boxes of fabric/sewing stuff.I thought it looked quite tidy there, but DD didn't like it.I have always used the floor of my airing cupboard for storage (knapsack with all our swimming costumes, lots of old paperwork, gifts at certain times of year ;).....).
So today I cleared the floor of the airing cupboard and stored it all in there.Saver-upper makes mental note to declutter and tidy the rest of the airing cupboard as soon as possible...................

The top of her new Expedia unit had become a bit cluttered with mine and OH's "stuff"-my toothbrush and deodorant, some left-over bits from assembling the Expedia unit ,a couple of small baskets of random stuff I haven't sorted yet.So I cleared all that away for her.

Her make-shift bedside table is actually a very deep box which was storing some of our 6yo's Christmas presents. So 6yo and I went through them all,and she put them away in her "new room".Together we ate some of her Christmas chocolates while we worked :rotfl:.

In the other girls' room,we put up a couple of posters 6yo had been given for Christmas.

In the last few days, for the amount of hours I have put in, I haven't really "decluttered" too much.It has just been a matter of everyone settling into their rooms and putting stuff away.Mostly the stuff being thrown out is tiny bits of rubbish/loom bands/random bits of plastic tat.
    Only memorable bits were:
    821:broken Whoopie cushion
822:a "spider" that one of this kids made.I used to always keep stuff like this because a child had made it with their own fair hand. But I am now getting ruthless
    823:
I sold an item on Fb for £25 :j
824: old magazine out for recycling

    Morning all
Didn't get DHs hanging rails done last night as DD3 popped round for a visit. We did manage to declutter a few choccys from a tin of roses last over from christmas that I found.
Today another 2 bags of stuff will go to the clothes bank, and a bag of little prem hats I knitted will go to the local maternity hospital not sure what else I'll manage as I'm with DD2 most of the morning for her scan.

    353. Whole house is vacuumed and vacuum bag emptied into bin.

    354. I have almost a box of vine tomatoes that need using up, I meant to put them in the ratatouille I made yesterday.

We moved house last month and were (un)fortunate to be able to move things into the new house since Christmas - just meant that unused things came to the new house first.

Many things have found a home and most of my books have been unpacked but there are still some books in boxes in the garage though and my parents left some books on the shelves before they moved out. Then I found boxes of books in the roof eaves that my parents had left!

I'm going to go through a shelf at a time and decide if i want to read the book or CS it for someone else to love. Hubster took some baby books to work for a pregnant colleague so I don't have to worry about those but there are lots more that I need to go through (gardening / cooking / reference / fiction / chick lit etc). Might go through cookery books first and liberate some of those first.

You might want to check out something like Amazon Trade in or We Buy Books Cat. I made over £80 on unwanted books recently, and they pay the postage. It takes a while to enter all the ISBN numbers, and they won't take ALL books, but it was a sitting down job! Many of the CS round here are limited as to what books they have room for. I ended up taking some of the remaining ones to one of those book banks in the supermarket car park, operated on behalf of the local air ambulance charity, and freecycling others.

MILs shredding is now all done and out ready for collection
Hospital was really pleased with the hats, so I'll us some more of my wool stash making more for them.
Sorted my shoes and found four pairs I don't wear as they hurt, so they are in the CS bag
Strangely I Found four odd shoes in my wardrobe, they have until the weekend for their friends to turn up or they are being binned. I'm waiting till then incase they have accidentally been shoved over into DHs side which is being finished this week.

I have a day off tomorrow, and I am not sure what to do with it!
    I have a few options,but really can't decide:
-go through the bundles/bags of stuff in eldest daughter's room. There is a couple of IKEA bags of toys/kid's books to sort through (see if toys/games complete, then keep or donate). That would make this room, the last of the 3,completely decluttered
    -declutter airing cupboard
-clean and tidy bathroom.Only a small room,it has been neglected with all the bedroom focus.Looking forward to decluttering unused bath toys
-sort out the "little messes" I have lying around : bundles of paperwork, some random stuff at the top of the stairs, emptied out of bedrooms on Sunday(lengths of staples, loose bits of toys, bits of tat emptied out of bedrooms)
-declutter kitchen. It is only a small kitchen, with not much bench space,so I have to keep on it.A child's rock tumbler has been sitting in the corner of a kitchen bench since Christmas 2013!We own too many coffee cups, too many mismatched plates, too much miscellany in the junk drawer.............

Still lots of work to do.
