  • Project three finished - Mothering Sunday gifts from my grandchildren to their mothers.

I simply backstitched over their own handwriting then they stitched the buttons on. I'm especially pleased with the fancy frame as it was an old gold mirror which I transformed after doing a paint techniques workshop. It's far nicer than I'd ever imagined! :D

  • Hi Everyone. Loving all your makes. Have just posted 3 photos on the Groups Flicker page. A dress for my DGD upcycled from DGS2's old top. Changed the smurf into a smurfette, (well sort of). More yellow ducks for the LLYP. Lastly the mother's day card for my step-mum. Next to it is a birthday card for her next month, but I can't take the credit for that one as I found it amongst some craft stuff that belonged to my younger sister. I think she would approve that I'm using it. Will wait for a good day to tell Mum who made it, as she suffers from dementia.

Stitching witch, I love those Mother's Day presents, so cute!

I have completed another craft (although im not sure if you'd class it as a craft?)
I have covered an ugly brown velvet lampshade with some fabric scraps leftover from curtains in my sisters caravan. The fabric fits in with my 'nautical' theme perfect so it saved me buying! I have enough scraps leftover to make some bunting for above the door too, so that's a bonus!

Funny thing is, my friend came around for a cuppa and gave me a hand covering the top shade. Because we were busy chatting we managed to cover the shade with the fabric upside down! We only realised when the glue was dry and we tried it out for size!
I could have cried! Luckily I managed to pick it off and redo it, although I didn't think it was possible. Alls well that ends well......

  • Another finish last night, the baby blanket for next grandchild. It's gender non-specific as we don't find out until later today what's coming.

    Hello all.

It's a bit quiet in here these days. I expect that means you're all engrossed in your challenge projects.

I've now made the tags for the wedding favours and the place cards. Only a few more things to do and I will be ticking off wedding stationery from my list. :)

Looking forward to seeing what you've all been up to.

Hope you had a great holiday, tricksie!

I'm pleased to report all wedding stationery is finished -- woo hoo!

That was invitations, table plan, place cards, table names, menus, favour tags, flip flop signs, and wedding postbox sign.

And I also made some bunting. It's for a pic for their thank you cards.

Colour isn't right in the picture - it's ivory and teal (wedding colours) and the letters are ivory lace.

Excited to cross off this challenge (and can't wait for the big day!).

Fos I love the lavender sachet; so very pretty. Tricksie you are ploughing through the list. OK the latest finish for me has been a challenge because I've been so busy at work - so a couple of power stitching nights got it finished.
Anyway my friend seems to like it and it was all from stash; but I'm a very new quilter so it's far from 'traditional' and it's certainly not perfect.
