Oh my goodness what a lot of work sweetcarer these look amazingsweetcarer wrote: »Hello
Sorry I haven't been about for a while been busy with work and play. Had a surprise 40th birthday party - my brother - and had to make nearly 100 cupcakes (decorated) and a birthday cake on the orders of my bossy sister.
The cupcakes were just topped with butter icing (home bargains have a very well known one for just a pound) and wee wafer toppers I got from eb$y got 24 for about £2. Got them to do with his hobbies/interests - church, badminton, music and being 40. The main cake was the BB badge as he is a high rank in it. Loved using the fondant icing for it as it was like plastercine. Just used a paper stencil (picture from internet) and cut.

Still plodding on with the learning sampler. Need to get to Ik€a and get some frames. Going to be exhibiting some of my stitches in a exhibition with the Embroiders Guild - so need get them framed up.
Hope all are well.

Hi all
Greentiger your cards always look amazing. I'm unders o much pressure to stitch that I caved in and bought a card for my BF for her 50th and my DD's 18th AND mother's day.
Work feels like a pig I'm working at least 6 days a week at the moment.
3 days to go to BF's BD and 5 to DD 18th - silent scream.
Carla marie I can't see your latest engraving but I'm sure when I'm calmer I'll be able to find it.
Mrs MP what a gorgeous blanket
Keep the faith ladies

My latest finish is a small lavender sachet which will be part of my mum's mother's day gifts

This was a kit from a company called Itching to Stitch and it came with everything including the lavender and the lovely Liberty style print backing. I decided to add stuffing to mine.0 -

Updating my list
1. Starry Night cross stitch - page 3 of 4 completed
2. Clarinet tapestry bell pull - Finished
3. Two baby cardigans and booties for N - Finished
4. Two baby cardigans and booties for S
5. Baby cardigan for C
6. Baby cardigan for J
7. Cross Stitch wedding sampler for P & S - Finished
8. Decopatch Conservatory clock - Finished
9. Christmas Penguins Cross stitch - March Holiday project
10. Always time for tea Cross stitch - March Holiday project
11. New baby Cross Stitch card - March Holiday project
Starry Night is coming along well, page three completed apart from a sprinkling of stitches in 939 as I ran out and haven't been to the shops yet for more. I've made a bit of a dent in page four which has a few more blocks of colour than the other three pages.
I would've liked it finished by the end of March but am off to Gran Canaria on Monday for ten days and the lap frame is too big to take away. I have, therefore, chosen three smaller projects as listed above (9 - 11) I have made a bit of a start on all three as I don't like sitting on a plane trying to sort everything out. Really hard to put them away after just one length of thread on each one.
Don't seem to have had many finishes this year but should speed up once Starry Night is finished!Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -

tricksie, you're working well through your list. I'm kind of stuck on the basics (card making) because I am still working on wedding stationery, but that'll be done soon as wedding is on 10th April. :eek:Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400

Fos I love the lavender sachet; so very pretty. Tricksie you are ploughing through the list. OK the latest finish for me has been a challenge because I've been so busy at work - so a couple of power stitching nights got it finished.
Anyway my friend seems to like it and it was all from stash; but I'm a very new quilter so it's far from 'traditional' and it's certainly not perfect.Quilt front for 50th birthday by laneuville01, on Flickr
