Morning all
Got 5 bootees knitted need to do another then start sewing them together and make a couple of twisted cars for a pair of them.
Used up one ball of pink wool but will start on a couple more little cardis with another I've found in the stash
Still only finished 1 item of my list as the cross stitch needs personalising and the baby stuff hasn't been sewn up yet and is going to be listed as a job lot.
Got another cross stitch to do the same as the last one.SPC~12 ot 124

Hello
Sorry I haven't been about for a while been busy with work and play. Had a surprise 40th birthday party - my brother - and had to make nearly 100 cupcakes (decorated) and a birthday cake on the orders of my bossy sister.
The cupcakes were just topped with butter icing (home bargains have a very well known one for just a pound) and wee wafer toppers I got from eb$y got 24 for about £2. Got them to do with his hobbies/interests - church, badminton, music and being 40. The main cake was the BB badge as he is a high rank in it. Loved using the fondant icing for it as it was like plastercine. Just used a paper stencil (picture from internet) and cut.

Still plodding on with the learning sampler. Need to get to Ik€a and get some frames. Going to be exhibiting some of my stitches in a exhibition with the Embroiders Guild - so need get them framed up.
Hope all are well.

Oh wow, fab cakes. I bet they were well received!
Finished up February's cards. I needed a new job card, so, of course, I did my usual and made an extra, similar one.variations on an embossed theme by r.doctor, on Flickr

Hello
Thank you all for your kind comments.
Doubt that I will get a thank you for them all. The receipent my brother was on phone last night. Was asking why didn't I help my sister more orgainising it and helping set it up.
One - the distance it is a good 40 minute drive away and I would have to go all the way down and all the way back to pick up OH.
Two - I spent Saturday morning finishing off the cakes, have them as fresh as I could and I used my own money on them didn't ask for any help towards it.
Three - when I arrived to drop off the cakes before picking up my dad and brother (he thought he was going for a meal), my sister had other women there helping her.
Four - I helped at the night serving tea to everyone, taking out food - in the end I got a glass of water, couple of baby sausage roll, some crisps and a small cream meriague.
Five - she didn't ask me to come and help - all she asked me to do was bake some cupcakes and a birthday cake.
I know my sister is not nice to me - we have never really gotten on but it is hurting my brother is saying that to me. My sister is getting all the credit for it anyway (from what I hear from others back there) - even the padre said so in his prayer he did before it all started.
Sorry to put this on all of you but I just feel so - I don't angry or upset more. Wishing my mum was here, as I do know I feel very sad about it all.
Kind wishes,

Sweecarer I'm so sorry that you did as you were asked and made all those lovely cakes and it just wasn't aprechiated or acknowledged. What a shame your sister got you to do all that without even pointing out to your brother what you'd done. Sometimes families are really hard work.SPC~12 ot 124

Oh, sweetcarer, YOU know what you did and so does the man upstairs. Maybe your brother didn't know how much you actually did - not everyone is in it for the glory. But all the same, it's good to be acknowledged. Cheer up, we think you've done a grand job.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400
