    HI everyone

Sorry I have not been about - been a bit busy - but I have managed a wee bit of stitching in between.

Band 11 of the learning sampler is now done - turned out a bit of challenge as I still couldn't get the queens stitch right (tried on the twisted band sampler and my practise cloth) - so I created my own (created on the twisted) - ½ queens.

    So here it is

Thought an even more close up might help see all three stitches done in this band - outer edges ½ queens, working in Norwich stitch (I like this stitch - doesn't look good until you have done all parts of it) and then in the centre is crossed corner cushion stitches.

So we have now a couple more stitches of the stitch book

Think I have already shared the queen stitches, so won't bore you with them again.

So will do my internet rounds now and might look out some threads for another project. Don't know if I will do stitching today - feeling a bit meh.

Nice work everyone - love the wedding invites (such a classic looking design) and the knitted teddy - how cute.

    Kind wishes,

    sweetcarer ;)

  • Absolutely stunning. I did a sampler with loads of different stitches too but it took me two years in total!

  • Please count me in. Life got in the way of me keeping up with things last year, so I won't make a list, but I love what everyone does. So far this year have made Legoman costume, will post that soon. Am knitting a lacy baptism gown in fine cotton for new DGD. Lots of other stuff intended, including more Yellow Ducks. So thanks to whoever it was last year who gave the info about those.:T

    Updating my list

    1. Starry Night cross stitch - page 2 of 4 completed
    2. Clarinet tapestry bell pull - Finished
    3. Two baby cardigans for N
    4. Two baby cardigans for S
    5. Baby cardigan for C
    6. Baby cardigan for J
    7. Cross Stitch wedding sampler for P & S - starting today!

Page two of Starry Night was finished at craft club last night, so taking a small break before page three.

A lady at work asked me to do a wedding sampler for her son who is getting married at Easter. Only have five weeks before my holiday so needed to start it today. Popped to Hobbycraft for some buttons and found the perfect kit reduced to £8

Got to sew buttons on two baby cardigans then I'll make a start.

Lovely sampler design and shouldn't take you too long

  • My latest finish illustrates nicely why I don't do a full list at the beginning of the year. I was asked to make a banner for a baby shower at the weekend.

Terrible photo but the best I could do before it disappeared.

The background is hessian and the letters are white with white hearts which although they don't show in the photo do show when the banner is hanging. All items from my stash :money:

    Fab makes as always ladies!

I have a couple of makes to declare

    16518023692_047075ffd0_s.jpgimage by boulton.carla, on Flickr

This dress was actually on my list from last year. I cut everything out last May, the. Started working on the bias binding. I have never used binding before and I couldn't get my head around it, so I pulled a sulk and put it away.
Yesterday I thought to myself 'I'm never going to understand it, if I don't try and do it'. So I did.
And I'm happy to say I finally understand how to do it!
The big issue is, the dress was originally for my daughter. However as I cut it last year and she's grown a lot since then so it probaly won't for her! Lol! Never mind my niece can have it if not.
It is also my first attempt at using a pattern, so I'm quite happy I managed to complete it!

My second make is this frozen inspired glass, again for my daughter.

Sorry the pics are very small, you should be able to click on them to make them larger!

And a bit of exciting news for my daughter; if any of you get sew magazine, this months star letter is a pic of my daughter with a pillow she made all by herself! I couldn't be prouder and I can't wait to tell her when she's home from school!
She will have a prize coming too, which I believe to be a £50 bundle of fabrics, which she will love!
