    Hi everyone!

Thrifty don't be hard on yourself about the lunch - everybody needs to treat themselves occasionally.

Traveller sorry to hear about your oven. Hope you find a not too expensive solution.

Day off for me today and I am home alone. It's bliss!

I should be busy working on assignments but am giving myself a break while I've got the chance and am snuggled on the sofa with a hot chocolate. DH and DS will be home soon so peace will be shattered! Somebody has just been to collect an item I sold on Facebook, so that's got my saving upto £235.06 now.

Homemade lasagne is out of the freezer and defrosting for tonight's meal.

Need to do weekly shop today and I am prepped with my vouchers and mysupermarket list.

Am now going to enjoy the last of my peace before it gets shattered!

Traveller - think they are playing safe. Sounds crazy to me. I bought glass splashback, thinner than tiles (ebay) fitting so easy just stick on, as I decided to go without tiles looks more modern.

loveadove - I know it's hard but try not to worry! I'm sure professional references will be acceptable instead; I know someone who went back to medical school 10 years after undergrad, and they took a reference from his current employer, who was an accountant! Best of luck with the application :)

SFD yesterday, hopefully today as well although... I am graduating today! So lunch out may involve spending some money, but will be well worth it :D

Thanks, I really want to stick with gas as it's what I know. He said he'd leave the cooker with me which I find odd. So he wouldn't fit it but find someone who will? What about the regulations, lol! Well i'm working/reading up about cookers at the same time, lol! I've decided my debt free treat will be seeing Les Miserables live as I love that show-only ever seen the film. I love the story line and songs. I keep playing the sound track-driving the kids nuts, keep replaying I dream a dream and the confrontation song, lol :D

Well been dreading putting my meter readings into E3F account as we had the heating on all day (17C) and night for the last three weeks plus we boost (20) in the evening. On timer (off from 8am to 4pm, and 10pm to 6am) the living room goes down to 12 in the current weather and never went higher than 18 even after 4 hours heating. Was never sure who to believe, the timer defenders or the leave it on low and turn it up brigade. I guess it must depend on the house. In ours it must use more gas getting it back up from cold (because it cools down so much) than it does keeping it at 17. We used 30 units less gas (100 vs 70) over the last 5 weeks incl christmas/holidays compared to the 5 weeks before. Glad I now that now.

Oh speakingofart sorry missed that too. Congratulations !!!!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
Running in to do a quick check in. Will be back later to read what I've missed.
Been busy today at home. Have made another £23 between amazon trade ins and music magpie. Spent quite a lot of today cataloguing and packing stuff. That brings my total side hustles for the month to £153!! I'm really pleased.

Used my nectar points today to buy some shopping. Amazed have limped on to the end of this week on fumes of shopping budget. 6 days to go & £15 left in redirected budgets. Maybe doable?

    See you later

  • went for marmalade oranges as i knew they were going to be reduced when i checked the date yesterday and still managed to spend £30 odd pounds.I still find it impossible to go buy what i want and leave just with that. A list doesn't help, think i need to invest in a zapper that zaps me when ever i try to buy something not the list.Wonder where i can get one from?

Well weekly shop has been done. Must say I am very impressed with mysupermarket. Planned my shop online last night then downloaded the app to my phone. It generated a shopping list complete with little tick boxes for me to follow in the shop. Prices were spot on. My only little niggle is it doesn't show regional variations, such as the Welsh tea bags I buy.

Anyway, spent just under £45 between 2 shops.

Change of plan for tonight's meal as MIL has given us some pizzas. So will use them tonight and keep lasagne for over the weekend. I am really grateful as I was getting a bit worried about what I have meal planned for next week, but this will make things last a bit longer.

    Today I am grateful for
Having time to myself (this never happens)
    Free pizzas
    Mysupermarket app

    Happy Graduation Day speakingofart.

Spent £2.23 on food (plain yoghurt, strawberry yoghurt and marg) and £1,50 on bus fare.

    Today I am grateful for
Helpful shop assistants, Hot water (lovely shower at mum's) and little treats (but must get back onto eating properly asap - was given a non-diet fizzy drink today, only had a little SO SO BAD FOR ME - it wasn't what I had asked for).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
