Welshkitty I gave up on MySupermarket for the exact reason of the regional variances. It never got my local supermarket costings right on silly things. Not to mention the fact that whichever supermarket you *start* with on there is always the cheapest compared to the others... :rotfl: - the changes they make when switching shops is hilarious and you always have to make many amendments!
Am feeling ok today. Still got a very poorly Jelly, a very bad back and now Jellys stinking cold to contend with myself! But ok other than nearly putting my back out each time I cough :rotfl: gotta laugh or I would cry.
Not a SFD but I am at 14 so should make the cut by the end of the month! Got a lot of batch cooking to do tomorrow. Freezer has been ransacked this week for meals and I am proud to say that only 2 meals remain in there!Lots to make involving various beans and pulses.
Got a taxi halfway to work this morning. Was running late in the freezing cold and walking like the hunchback of Notre Dame. So £3.90 spent and got to work on time... the last half of the journey took me far longer than usual and I only just got in on time then! Good call, walked home but have given up my WTW for the day. Am still ahead of myself!
Today I am grateful for:
Lovely friends
Letters from the hospital
Savings accounts
Happy Graduation speakingofart

Congratulations speakingofart
Well done on your money making bob
Sazzlebgood when I was teaching myself to shop cheaply I would write a list with the prices next to it, then only take enough cash to cover the estimated cost plus a pound or two spare. I having a mini calculator that I carry in my pocket and add up the cost as I go around the shop, this avoids embarrassment at the tills.
Today was payday and a very spendy day (lunch out, petrol, hen do, hotel, food shopping, dry cleaning, tax bill!). Also transferred money to pay off debts so I am now just over 50% debt free :j No exercise today and was out for lunch today so didn't achieve much towards my targets today.
Today I am grateful for;
1.) perfectly behaved students on the school trip
2.) a lovely support network of friends
3.) getting on with OH all week, it's been bliss

To be honest, I didn't use it to compare shops, just to work out how much it would cost. I had a voucher for £5 off £40 spend so stocked up on non-perishables to reach the £40. It definitely helps me budget and I really like having the shopping list on my phone as I always forget my paper list!0

Today I am grateful for not working on a Friday, for beating the bus on my walk to the library, for getting a book in the charity shop and then finding out that amzn trade in will give me 24p more for it, for dd picking a humungous 300+ page book from her school library to read (herself), for dh's travels going smoothly.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Greetings one and all...
First off I want to say hello - and sorry! I know since attaining my debt free status I haven't been back so much... That's not because I've been enjoying my wonderful new debt free life - quite the opposite!!!
This evening I found the inspiration from somewhere to put pen to paper - well, uhmm - fingers to keyboard - and update my diary - for the first time in months. Life didn't turn out quite as planned and I now find myself in not such a great place. In the quest for financial freedom - I am back in a bit of debt
On the plus - I'm here - and I'm doing something about it. So - if it's ok - from February - I'll be back with you on the NST Challenges - more determined than ever that *I will* have the life that I am dreaming of - no matter what life decides to throw my way.
I genuinely hope you are all well... I'll try and catch up on what you've all been up to now I've got my head above water and can see a way forward.
Love to all xxx
As Kat would say... Onwards and Upwards!!!

Hello all,
speakingofart congrats!!
Today has been a spending day as I saw an old friend and spent £10 on lunch and a drink. Then did a bit of food shopping for £20 and need to go to my second store tomorrow to get a few extra bits.
But I am still within budget and am aiming for 5 days next week for NSDs.
Things I am grateful for:
1) seeing my friend today after 3 years
2) been asked to be interviewed for my friend's radio show
3) started back on my green smoothies today and love the extra energy I get from it
