I've been a bit slack on the positives and reading all this sad news has made me realise that I am just grumpy and fed up with January.
Today I'm grateful for,
1. My business. 2 years ago I created my friend's birthday cupcake tower and I wished so hard to make it a business that it's actually happened. Its taken a lot of work, determination and late nights but it's been 100% worth it.
2. Yesterday a family friend announced that him and his fianc! are expecting a baby boy. They are also one of bride and grooms this year.
3. I have volunteered through the charity, 'baking a smile' to create a birthday cake for a child who suffers a medical condition. I don't do a lot for charity due to finances but this is something I can do to brighten a familys day and boost my business at the same time.Overdraft: [STRIKE]£529[/STRIKE] £199 BC: [STRIKE]£697.82[/STRIKE] £1974.02 MBNA: [STRIKE]£1874[/STRIKE] £517.00 -
Good morning,
some promising news. Friend was transferred to a bigger hospital. They woke her up yesterday and done a few tests like if she can move body parts and follow with her eyes etc. All looking positive so far. They put her back under and she needs another operation but hopefully it won't be the worst case scenario I imagined.
Tody should be another SFD. Will write a tight shopping list today to last for most of next week. And write down what we have left in the freezer etc.
That's all for now
Today I'm grateful for
1 the NHS and great doctors and nurses
2 crocheting and plasters to cover the blisters from it
3 and teething gel and calpolDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi everyone, so sorry for all the ups and downs and sad news
Thrifty, so glad things are looking up for your friend
Mothernerd-Happy Belated Birthday
Sorry I have been AWOL. My eldest has his own business, this is the first year it's been registered as he finished Uni last summer and it's now serious. Did he know exactly what returns ect he needs to make, has he made steps to get an accountant? Oh no he said-I thought I could do it all myself  After many calls to HMRC on his part, he kind of seems to have grasped what he should be doing-I think, but I was worrying about him.
I've been looking at ways to be more efficient at home as I'm constantly tired and It's a waste of energy really. Oh and I think the mice that we had years ago are back with a vengance since our lovely Tyson our cat died two weeks ago, I could hear scraping from behind the bookshelf on Tuesday evening, but nothing since. Terrified of the things, but will lay traps ect
Today should be a NSD. Yesterday did my monthly food shop, so should be ok for a while, but spend nothing else. I'm determined to try for May to clear my debt and have really closed my eyes to spending-so farI'm working from home today, so feel a bit more relaxed. Ds has gone to a meeting with a record label with some prominent artists, hopefully it will go well for him, but more to the point, no music disturbing me while he's editing videos, lol.
Today, I'm grateful that despite my moaning, my eldest is a good example for my other 3 children-it makes my job easier.
My health and family
When I was putting the food away yesterday and ridding the fridge and freezer from food that really should have left ages agoI was grateful I was moaning there was not enough room to put it all. As opposed to not enough food for too many people.I vow to make sure nothing will be wasted now. This really tends to happen when people ask for things as opposed to me sticking to my list.
Well chin up everyone and lets keep going! I know it's easy to feel we are not making a dent in our debts sometimes, but the beginning is always the hardest, as your laying the foundation for change. But remember, no matter how long it is predicted to take to clear it, keep strong and chip away. That time will pass regardless and it will be great to have acheived your DFD after it has :T:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -

2. Sharp eyes
3. The time this morning I spent rearranging the front room. It looks great.

Another SFD. Thanks for the birthday wishes - it maybe wasn't everyone's idea of a good time but I enjoyed it. Very sleepy today - stayed up late sewing.
Today I am grateful for COLOURS and the ability to see them,
for DAYLIGHT - still light at half past four (even if it was light grey)
and for FOOD and having enough (still making meals from odd bits in the fridge and freezer - need to have a cooking day at weekend, just cleared the washing up mountain and counted the onions). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I am grateful for getting in a good walk at lunchtime, for 'sourcing' a new present for dd's friend's party from a ch shop (was feeling stingy for doing so, but am also knitting her 2 pretty owls), for dh not being late home from work, for being able to shrug off annoying colleagues, for reading with dd all snuggled up in fleecy blankets.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Today I am grateful for:
1. Skype- to chat to my brother on the other side of Europe
2. A voucher code not working when attempting to order myself a takeaway this evening... resulting in me giving up and gaining a NSD and avoiding unnecessary calories.
3. The fact that tomorrow is Friday and I'm off to Dublin for the weekend with my best friend (who has a house over there, so no spend on accommodation)
