Dd is sloooooowly mending, thank you LoveaDove. She is exhausted and extremely weak and has lost 4lbs, which is almost 10% of her bodyweight. Her appetite has disappeared, so re-feeding her and building her up again is a slow process. But in herself, she is more like her old self, just doesn't have the energy to sustain it. She may well need the rest of the week off.
I'm currently using the amaz0n trade in site to sell them some books - they are offering £5 extra, so do check it out if you want to make some pennies.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Good morning all
So today is NSD 6 Of 18. I have my meals planned & topped up my travel card yesterday.
Speaking of art - I am on the market research trail tonight too for £50 lovely smackers. I can hardly contain myself. It is so needed this month.
This will set me apart as some kind of crazy but a tip I tried with our cat food supply was writing down on the box the date it was open and when it was supposed to last to. We use a feeding cup that shows when you have put enough in but it is very easy to be over generous and go slightly over the line. Every time you do that it combines up to take a portion away over time. The box that has gone in the recycling today latest exactly to the date it should. Our next is a huge sack bought on special so I will need to calculate that later. I'm telling you it works!
If any of you need further inspiration I am really enjoying The Non Consumer Advocate right now. Kathy Work Stanley. She is a bit like Martin but more Geoff Yegar. She writes a 5 frugal things blog post most days and gets lots of replies which are very interesting to read. She originally started off joining the compact which was the original buy nothing new moment in the US. And she kept going from there. I find her really no nonsense and inspirational.
Have a good day all.

Got loads of pizza left over from last night so will use that up for dinner today. Will try and get back to the meal plan tonight. May nip into town as have code to get free diary from whsmith. Not planning any other spends though.
UPDATE: got my diary. Should have been £9.99 but it was free!!!! :j0 -

A good day all around. I kept to the NSD code. And I also havent used any of my travel card money either. Walked & cycled all my journies. Think I have done about 12 miles today all in.
Chicken curry made for tea, lunchbox packed for tommorow & have herded son through after school routine. Just waiting for OH to get in as the focus group starts at 7.30." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi everyone, not been on for a couple of days as the charger for my tablet has been playing up and not charging it, then today it's decided to work!!
Anyway I'm up to 10 sfd now and doing well. The roadkill challenge hasn't been very successful for me though and I have been looking but hey can't win everything and I will keep looking.
So off into forum for a look round, hope everyone is OK, it's certainly cold here and windy, but at least the snow has gone.

Hey everyone, not updated for a while - mostly because I haven't spent much money
Hugs to all turtles, turtle mum's and turtle littlies; these turtle families are a tough and courageous bunch aren't they?
I'm on 10 NSDs including today (the PJs are NOT coming off). I went on a meditation retreat at the weekend which I paid a donation for on Sunday, and then had to replace a car headlight bulb yesterday before it got dark so £4.99. I did buy the bulb and replace it myself though so at least it was the cheapest option (with added swearing for free
). I also found out that the lovely local auto spares shop has my car battery in stock at £45 and will fit it for free - the RAC wanted £85  so I'm well chuffed with that and will hopefully be able to hang on until next month to buy it.
Still got £100 spare in the budget and hoping I can roll some of this over for clothes I'll get billed for in Feb. Shopping online with Next is my only consumer vice, as their tall range (only online) is my main source of clothes, from the clearance section or in the sale. I ordered from the Next sale before Xmas and it's just arrived, sent half of it back but bagged a men's wool and mohair jumper for £13 reduced from £50  which fits great and I will wear in the house and keep the heating off, and some vital fleecy PJs that I can never get long enough. From now on I am going to look in charity shops and try and make some things.
I finally realised I had a 'tall black vest' habit that needed to be broken. Every Next sale, they reduce their long vests to £2, and every sale, I buy one quick, before they sell out! I did the same this time but remembered I still have one in the drawer with the label on waiting to replace its clone from the sale before (and the one before that...) which is still totally fine! Vest returned and habit broken! I think similar to how people who have grown up hungry tend to hoard food, I snap up everything I like in my size because I never know when one will come up cheaply again, and tall ranges are a relatively new thing since stuggles as a teenager with half-mast kegs and a chilly midriff, but I think it's enough now.NST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

NSD number 6 today. Probably the only good part of my day... Packing up some things to stay at my parents. Boiler seems to have finally had it. I bled the radiators last night and this morning as pressure keeps rising. Switched off the boiler before I went to work but when I returned the pressure had still gone up (?!). So bled again, then turned on and it just started 'screaming' at me. I was so scared after 10 mins of such a racket that I had to turn it off. Still shaking now... thought it would explode! Lol. DH away till Saturday so will feel safest at my parents I guess. Can deal with no heating but not freezing cold water to wash in! Making me hate my house and just everything. UrghLetting Go NST #17
