Thanks mothernerd that sounds very talented and inspired me. I'll put !!!!! and stitch cards back on my list for next christmas. And maybe make some more felt ornaments etc.

Today should be another SFD. Going to list my stuff on ebay today. Did one for last night and it already has one watcher. I hate the hassle and the packaging but i hope to make a few pennies. Need to pay things off, want to do work in the garden and we want to go on a bigger holiday skiing in the Alps in March 16 as it's the last chance before DS starts school and we haven't had a big holiday since before the kids and won't have soon again. So told hubby I'm flogging everything that's not nailed down esp. baby stuff like the jumperoo as soon as DD is too big and if his cousin doesn't want it back.

EDIT The !!!!! was the word describing sticking a needle into paper to leave a wee mark/hole where the thread goes through, apparently obscene ?!

    I had the same thing last year when I described my ex as the f e c k l e s s parent.
Spent a productive ten minutes writing a note to the MSE censor elves a long list of dictionary definitions (well I enjoyed it).

  • Quick update from me:

I'm up to 5 NSDs this month so far - starting to cut it fine for the 18 target for the month! I'm going to do my best to reach the target.

I've brought lunch to work every day since the new year. Assuming that I used to spend £3.29 on a meal deal every day, that means that I've saved £26.32 so far this month! If I keep it up, I'll have saved almost £60. Brilliant.

Also, my lunches are much lower calorie than the meal deal options - so hopefully that will be reflected in my next weigh in!

    Hi guys

Bobarella your little fella sounds adorable!! The Bargain Avenger :rotfl: - I don't think Shirley Temple was Annie. Annie was a frizzy affair and Jelly has crazy tight ringlets. When I was her hair it is halfway down her back. By day it barely dusts her shoulders thanks to springing up!

Am just getting ready to go out in this miserable windy downpour and collect Jelly from Nursery. Have decluttered half a choc orange and some crackers today ;)

Not a SFD as I spent £2.99 on the final piece of my macbook protection kit, a silicon keyboard cover :D well worth losing a SFD for! So still stuck on 7 or 8 I can't remember which!!

Weds - Fri will be SFD as I will get my works cakes today while I am spending.

timetrade such a lot of money saved in such a short space of time! Must feel great!! Well done :D

ETA: Collected Jelly - took her for a 15 minute swing on the park then came home and baked some dairy free cookies, half of which are eaten already  fun times, and only an hour until dinner

Well, finally got some info regarding the nursery fees for DD. It is 450! for this month (120 more than budgeted), although I still havent received the info for the following months I guess they still charge 4 and 5 week months. April should be interesting as for both kids the bill will be a grand (would be 1500 if we didn't have childcare vouchers) as it's probably a 5 week month and DS won't get any preschool funding for the holidays!opefully only another year and it should get cheaper....

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Lilt - Love the sort of decluttering you have done today. That is going to alter the feng shui of your home for sure. Or your belt, one or the other :)
I stand corrected on thinking Shirley Temple played Annie, but she was Hedi :)

SFD. Felt a bit flat (tired, cold achey). Thought it might be because further house improvement means big things have to happen eg front room would be tidier if the drawers were in the little bed (would also be more spaces to put things) but the runners need repairing and bed needs turning on its' side so no can do.

Went and found a few things I could do - washing up mountain tackled, 2 baskets of decorations lidded and away under the desk, some larger tools moved to a corner out of the way.

Lots of sewing in progress. made the mistake of looking for any more small bits of aida fabric:eek: Found some but lots more things I want to do, more part finished stuff. So little time and where would it all go when it was done. Must FINISH (one of my 15 'F' words for 2015) some bits off. One pattern in the recycling and another to join it soon. I will do this.

Today I am grateful for small treats (had one of my gammon slices for tea - some left for another day), lovely colours and patterns (must resist temptation) and peace and quiet (DS3 finally gave in on the cleaning the bath standoff and now he's fast asleep).

Just had our MSE stylie Chilli stretched with carrots, celery and lentils ( usually pure red meat) and sold it to hubby as healthier and half veggie rather than money saving and he loved it. Result

  • Hi everyone!!

Happy Tuesday! Had a couple of spend days, food shop needed to be done (I didn't go on Saturday in the end) and my umbrella broke so needed to get a new one (I put that under 'social' cause I need a brolly to help me leave the flat).

Had a day of exercise on Sunday .... Although muscles now ache ready for body attack tomorrow...Ekk!

Absolutely love this challenge! I have never spent so little and hope to keep this way for the rest of the month....and hopefully the year!

Glad everyone else is doing well too :)
