Very true, mavvymoo!
I'd like to join please. I'll set my budget at £200 which is generous as I tend to buy from charity shops/ebay and rarely shop on the high street. But I do prefer a target to be achievable so that I can actually succeed instead of fail!
My frugal clothing budget is helped by the fact I'm uniformed for work, so my home clothes don't exactly suffer from wear and tear. Meaning what I already have should last longer.
Also on the positive side, I've just had new everyday loafers in November so probably I won't need shoes for a while. I did order a winter hooded jacket yesterday, I'd been watching the price of that for a fortnight, hoping it would reduce after Xmas, and it did! It will go straight back if it doesn't fit, but it went halfprice down to £24 and will be well worth 12 % of the annual budget if it fits and if it is as warm at it looks. (If I keep it I will update my sig.)
Need to take stock of wardrobe but am pretty positive I have enough of everything to make this work in 2015.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
Hello
I'd like to join you please. I'm going to set myself what feels like a crazy target of £75. I've never actually kept track of what I spend, so it could be interesting.
I am going to make myself a slight allowance though, I have plans to lose weight this year, so I'm not going to count gym clothes, and when I need a size smaller I am going to sell my then not fitting clothes to cover costs, in the hopes that I can avoid them coming out of my £75. I hope that made sense...
I've set myself such a low target because since finishing uni I have become a carer and self employed, so my income is unpredictable, and I've gotten very very good at picking things up walking around with them, or trying them on, then talking myself out of it and putting them back. I've become an I'll go back another day and if they still have it in my size it's meant to be kind of person. The losing weight thing is another that's made me good at not spending, I don't want to spend money on something that wont fit soon... lol.

Count me in please
I am currently trying to sort out "clothes mountain", I know I don't wear most of it. Last purchase was 2 F&F dresses on sale in october and I haven't worn either :O
Already fibbing cos I bought a cardi half price in a charity shop last week, not worn that either.
Pretty skint trying to pay off cc so I will say £75 for budget.
I am like you pixtotts, pick something up, walk round with it then talk myself out of it and put it back. The unworn purchases mentioned I was talked into by pals, I need to toughen up! lol2/20 NSD0 -
I'd like to join this please. I spend a ridiculous amount of money on clothes and quite honestly I don't need any more!
I know though that I will want to replace various things over the year, so I'm going to set a budget of $1000.
Hoping for some no spend on clothes/shoes/handbags months - they are a good idea.
I have been clearing out my wardrobe recently and discovered all sorts of things. Right now I'm wearing a brand new jumper I bought about a year ago and I absolutely love it! There had been so much stuffed into the wardrobe I'd forgotten it was there.0 -

I hadn't noticed it before but in a small way I too get talked into buying things when I shop with friends! Thankfully I normally shop alone! Even yesterday when I was out shopping for socks - I was with a friend. We were in TK Maxx & he noticed that I'd been looking at a top & put it back. I explained about my budget & he said "it's only £9.99 I'll buy it for you - belated Christmas present". I put up only minor resistance (I did really like the top & knew I would wear it lots) & ended up buying my friend a belated Christmas present in return. That's tantamount to being talked into it isn't it? (in a very lovely way as I know he wasn't expecting anything in return - he's a very generous person).
So, as a lesson to myself I am counting the £9.99 as a spend which is a bit worrying as 3 days into my challenge I've spent over 10% of my budget!! This is harder than I thought.
This challenge is about so much more than clothes isn't it!!Shifting my energy for 20200
