  • Good morning everyone. Thank you to Fedupandskint for once again taking up the reigns of CCC2015 and keeping an eye on us all. Please put me down again for £100 .For some reason my keyboard is not letting me highlight my budget or even increase the size of font , but I know from past if you do this it helps Fedupandskint to keep front page up-to-date easier, so apologies from me. The keyboard won't even let me start a new paragraph so it looks like I am rambling ,so going to sign off and wish everyone good luck

    Hi everyone!
Thanks for the 2015 thread Fedupandskint.
I've cut down a lot on clothes spending over the last couple of years but still have a way to go.
I'm aiming for £250 this year- ideally I want to come in under this but if I feel too restricted I am more likely to blow it!
The £250 includes underwear and also any new fabric or sewing patterns.

I'd like to be in please. I have a charity shop addiction and a very small wardrobe that I share with my husband ( who will probably be made redundant some time this year), space and finances means I need to get my act together.

So £150 for me, dh,and youngest ds.

If I get my act together on eBay, then I will allow myself the treat of spending some of that money on clothing!
  • Sounds like quite a few of us have Charity Shop addictions on here. My first visit to a Charity Shop this year in theory to drop of donations and I bought something!! Slightly worrying but this challenge did make me think long & hard about it & it feels like a good buy. A practically new Adidas fleece in my size & a nice colour - £3.50. I use sportswear a lot. I managed to resist buying a jumper as well.

Hi all, posted on the other thread my spendings in the sale on boxing day, but thought I out to put them here. I spent £72.25 on a wool coat for DH, a fleece, a zip up jacket, a coat for school, a t-shirt and a hat for my DS1.
DS2 doesn't need anything as he has hand-me-downs from DS1 and my friend recently gave me a bag of clothes too. He does usually get clothes for birthday and Christmas presents.
I also picked up 3 t-shirts and a jumper in Mr T's yesterday for DS1 in the next size up but not sure if I'm going to keep them yet!

Been out today to get the trainers that were on my 'permitted spend' list.

Looking at the website for the store I'd hoped to have a choice from 7 or 8 pairs (even with my strict restriction on what I wanted), but when I got there they only had two pairs below my mental top price bracket - and they didn't have my size in one of those either!! Luckily the ones they had in 'my size' (I vary up to a size and a half depending on style and make!) felt comfortable enough to be a viable option.

So I can now keep my black trainers for cycling, as I have a pair of white trainers for knocking around in. They cost me £22.99, which was slightly below my "ideally don't want to spend more than £25" and definitely below my "no way I'm paying over £30" price limits.

    Afternoon

I have transferred the £300 budget for this year into a savings account. the longer it stays there the higher the interest (although it will be a low amount anyway)

I spent £22.50 on a dress and some trousers for work. that will be it for this month :D

    hello all,

Well I'm off already- bought two new bras in the next sale, half price, £10/£360.

I've had a big tidy up of my clothes and only one thing went to the charity shop, which made me think for the first time I wear all of my clothes at some point in the year.
It's a good feeling I used to have too many mistakes buys- unworn and some with tags still on :o.
No more of that, it's such a waste of money.

This thread was brilliant support last year and I have already picked up some new tips from reading your posts:T.

Right been in town today and was so tempted by loads of stuff :eek:But only purchased a beautiful HOBBs skirt :D But it is 4 sizes too big for me but for a bargain charity shop price of £3 I just couldn't leave it :o

I will sell it to one of my friends at a profit :rotfl:I hope so not counting this and will update when its gone.

I thought this quote was perfect for most of us on this thread :D enjoy

"If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.:)
