If you're doing EESP for a week or just the odd day here and there it's strict EESP. Due to the fact that most people will therefore be cutting out there usual free yogurts it reduces your calcium intake, which long term isn't a good idea. So they state on the website that to compensate for this, if you are going to continue with EESP full time after the first week, then you need to add in either a second HEA or a syn free yogurt each day.

I will carry on then with my activia and see what happens

Is Ready Brek a HEB now Takeiteazy? If it is, I'll stock up next time I'm at the supermarket - for some reason I like it more than ordinary porridge

ready brek isn't a HE but I use it as its gluten free and SW says you can have any GF cereal so that's what I do,not sure it's right but hay ho :p

tie, are you much out of target range? I lost a pound this week although I'd been 'good' for a week. It was the first WI since 18th December so I probably lost the Christmas gain at the same time IYSWIM

according to my SW book from when I went, I'm still at target but when I struggled to maintain by myself I reset but not by 7lb. So I'm top end just but like yourself I really like to be at bottom or just under for safety :D

I know compered to a lot I have nothing to moan about and hubby has said what you worring about, you don't need to lose weight and he's right but it's about the damn numbers (which I said I wouldn't worry about) but am finding myself doing :o. Also have set a target for challenge and don't want to fail Like I did the last few times I set a number target. STS target worked though .
Wish SW could sort the mess in my head :D
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • LordDuke - dont worry, just be glad your getting back on SW plan. I shuffled in too, and was back to previous heavy-weight and some more. We have all done it. The main thing is to take each day at a time, even each morning/afternoon/evening and just do YOUR best (nobody elses). As a tip I have cut up an envelope and made it like a bookmark. I have written every single FREE food I like. Cos the books are full of free food I dont like. I carry this long bit of envelope around and refer to it loads. Nobody should be living on coffee and melon on SW, it is a plan for life, and I like my food. We will get there... we have before! Take care and yes I check in here to keep on track too. :)

Just lovingly cooked a joint of beef for a sunday roast, tried it and OMG its as tough as I don't know what, could sole my boots with it.

So disappointed. was looking forward to my dinner, the beef is now sliced up with the carrots and veg already prepared, slung in slow cooker to see if it softens up any.

If it wasn't raining I would be in mind to take myself to the carvery.

  • blinkered - ready brek is 4 1/2 syns for 25g (which is a tiny amount) plus the milk from you A choice. Plain porridge 35g is a B. there is Mornflake oats in sachet and Oat so simple in sachet, but no ready brek on the list. I am guessing because it has fat in as well as carbohydrate sugars. It isnt gluten free for coeliacs. The oats and the oat flour in ready brek are not gluten free as far as I have been told. I

    Morning all

There's a few of us who work in situations where we're surrounded by food! I'm not at the moment but will be again soon, so I will have to convince myself I don't like any of the naughty things we sell.

Having worked in offices and out on the road too, I know lots of work situations Are full of temptation, so what strategies do you all use to stay on track?

    LL :)

I work in a supermarket, luckily not directly with food, but when I used to work on the deli counter AND I was on the Cambridge Weight Plan yeaaars ago, we used to be allowed tasters of new foods and maybe some of the food thats going out of date so some freebies too... it was hard, but I just pictured everyone getting bigger while I was getting smaller XD

It's just remembering as well that you CAN have the bits of temptation, but would you rather have the food and regret it afterwards, or would you rather see your dream number on the scales, or fit into those jeans, bikini etc etc. It's self motivation for those hard moments where you're being tempted by the food devil! :rotfl:

Also if I'm tempted, I tend to see if i can come up with a lower syn verson, or Google to see is someones come up with a low syn version already :)

    -8lb for the challenge Shala:j

Beaten my biggest ever loss by 1lb, and I was slightly over 18st then so a big loss was easy! I've stuck strictly to EESP so it definitely works. I'm going to do another week of it, adding in either an extra HEA or syn free yogurt as the website suggests. More importantly than the number on the scales, I can physically see a good portion of that loss has come off my stomach. I never seem to shift much from there!

Today's plan is going to be

    B Weetabix(HEB) with milk(HEA) and a pear(S)
    L Lentil(P) and (S)vegetable soup with wholemeal roll(HEB)
    D Omlette(P) with (S)vegetables and (P)chicken and side salad(S)
S Syn free yogurt and apple(s)
Syns possible some cheese on the omlette

Yaaaay! 8's are a great number this week! Well done! :D

Well done you!, can I come and stay with you for a week? I might have a fantastic loss like you too!

Haha, feel free! I'll start a SW boot camp :p

I think mainly this week, it was working out what foods work with my body and which work against me and then cut them out. E.g pasta works against me so I've cut down a lot, I might have it once a week, and same with bananas, I like them, but my body doesnt with weight loss. Its weird when you play with foods like that, my eating habits are changing and I don't want to eat the foods that make me feel bloated but taste good, I want the foods that give me more benefits in the long run and become firm friends with them :)

Thinking about joining a Slimming World group and doing the countdown course for better value for money. Sounds like you can just turn up. Will I have to pay in advance for the 12 weeks in cash? Trying to work out if I need to take nearly £50 with me!

Daisy & whiplashy - congrats on the impressive WI this week :j
Well done to all losers & keep at it to the STS & gainers.

Yesterday was a very meh day for me
B: raisin wheats & ss milk & tea (HEB, HEA)
L: didn't have one (out shopping and not hungry as breakfast was around 10/11am)
D: turkey curry with onions & mushrooms & rice (free, 4 syns for mayflower curry, speed + speed)
Snacks: 8 daim mikado (1/2 syn each = 4 syns)
    Drinks: NAS squash
not really red/green/EE day lol, but within syns so I'll not worry about it much.

Going to make some quiche (without a pastry base) (3 eggs, tub of FF cottage cheese, onion, bacon (with fat removed), & a bit of tomato & 6 syns worth of cheese). I can then see how many portions I get and syn accordingly for the cheese. Might also do up another batch of butternut squash & sweet potato soup (I use 1 whole BNS & 2 sweet potatoes & an onion with veg stock - all free).
If I had this soup & a bit of quiche for my lunch in work most of the week, that would be ok for an EE lunch wouldn't it?

    Today:
B: raisin wheats, SS milk & tea (HEB & HEA)
L: 2 frylight eggs, beans & mushrooms (if there are any left) (all free + speed mushrooms)
D: steak, mashed potato & peas (free, 3 syns for flora, speed)
Snacks: Not sure yet, prob some mikado for a choc fix
    Drinks: NAS squash

Yep you have to pay upfront for the countdown courses :) I think you'll have to pay the joining fee as well unless you have one of the vouchers that were in some magazines/newspapers last week. Prob best be safe to take £65 with you just in case (£50 for countdown, £9.95 for joining fee & maybe £4.95 for first week as I'm not sure if you buy a countdown if it includes week 1).
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will let me know if I've picked this up wrong :)

Yes you do if that is what you choose.
Otherwise it is £4.95 per week after the first week when you have to join.
