Eeek being on the Slimming World plan and being a baker is really hard. Been baking orders all afternoon and have had a bowl of hot soapy water to put mixing bowl in straight away so I don't scrape the bowl and eat the leftovers :A
  • Hi all

Well done on all the losses, you're all doing fab:T I'm not weighing in til Monday and the anticipation is killing me!

Had an iffy couple of days, starting well then going off course.

Thursday was all good until tea time, had a veggie, potato and ham frittata before going to the homeless shelter, and then because it was my first shift and I felt awkward and didn't know what else to do, I sat down and ate a small plate of curry with the guests. There will have been syns, I'm sure there was oil in the curry, butter in the rice, I had a bit of naan bread and a couple of (shop bought) poppadoms, oh and then a massive slice of chocolate brownie and ice cream for afters. And then went home and ate the rest of the frittata that I couldn't manage before I went (coz it was massive)

Ahem, then yesterday again started well. I had the double porridge breakfast. I'm not sure about it, it goes a bit lumpy and feels a bit like eating gruel, but it's doing the trick of keeping me filled up so I'll stick with it for now. Went to the pub at lunch with some of my friends and just had a diet coke and picked up a couscous and chicken salad on the way back that I can't see having any syns in. But then after work I had 2 cans of kopparberg (cider), 2 pints of cider, a rum and coke and a massive chicken burritto. So a night best forgotten methinks.

Today's been strange, we've still not restocked the kitchen so I had a banana for breakfast, 3xryvita with 5x laughing cow lights and a special k bar for lunch then I've just made us a veggie stirfry with noodles for dinner. I almost added ham to my portion then stopped myself but it's still early so I might end up having some as a snack later on. I find if I don't have any protein in my dinner I get really hungry quite quickly but I've just had a yoghurt so we'll see how it goes

We've just done a tesco order to come tomorrow. Goodness knows where it's going to go, I think I got a bit carried away with ordering canned tomatoes and pulses:eek: Meals are planned for the rest of the week so hopefully that'll work out. Need to get to the gym tomorrow. I've developed a bit of a chesty cough, so I'm worried about pushing myself, but I'm doing a 10k with my workmates in 3 weeks so I've got to get back. I've had 4 days off so hopefully I'll be ok tomorrow.

Nannyto9, I'm not sure how you are managing to bake and not try any yourself. I deffo couldn't do that!

Very well done Daisy. Got your half stone shiny week one :j

Trip to Pizza Hut was nice, I enjoyed the treat and had a little more pizza than I planned but not ridiculous amounts. Ordered water to drink with my meal. Ate a plate of salad first (with a bit of their coleslaw, I defy anyone to eat dry salad bar without something and it was the lesser of various evils!). Had a few potato wedges too but avoided garlic bread.

Baby happily chowed down on the outer bits of the pizza so I only had the thin crust with cheese and veggies on. I'm going to assume at least some of the cheese can count as an HEA ;)

Overall I think I was restrained but it will get me over my pizza cravings for a few more weeks.

Tea will be the mini quiches I have left from yesterday with some baked beans. I think I will be hungry again by 7ish when we normally get around to eating!

Slimming World ~ trying to get back on the wagon...
  • Hi everyone - I lost 2.5lb this week and I'm very happy with that. Have set myself a goal to get to target by 26 March and I will get there. I'm sticking to the plan and making sure I'm doing 10,000 steps every day. Could do with going to the gym to tone up but can't seem to find the motivation. I'm enjoying all the walking though - and the dog is too! xx

Hi All! Hope everyone's doing well! Had my first weigh in yesterday. Lost a staggering -8.5lbs! :O that's the size of my friends newborn and a bit! Crazy! Very happy though! :D

I've given up on the idea of SP. It gives me a headache to think about it and I enjoy my free foods too much. Up the EE!!!:p

    That's fantastic Daisy! Well done:T

As part of the Operation Transformation show I mentioned the other day, there was a Know Your Numbers campaign here today. I went along to my local one to see how bad my waist measurement was, as I haven't been tracking that. I wish I had now. It was 39 inches today so still some work to be done, but I'd love to be able to compare it to when I was 18st! Also got some good news...I'm nearly 2inches taller than I thought, so my BMI is in the overweight category rather than obese as I thought!

I did get weighed today for them to calculate my BMI, but I told the girl I didn't want to know what it was as my weigh in day is tomorrow. She asked me what my weight was last week and when I told her she said I'd be extremely happy in the morning:D

Aargh, I just sat through a roast dinner and did not have roast potatoes or parsnips!! The temptation was huge. I also passed on the brownie for dessert so I am feeling quite virtuous now.
    Todays has been:
BF: boiled eggs 1 slice WM bread form a 400g loaf
L: HM chicken meatballs in tomato sauce and veg
D: roast chicken, broccoli, carrots spinach, gravy made with chicken bovril.
    Snacks apple, satsuma.
Syns: HM cookie, estimating at 6.
HEA milk. I think I should also have a second HEB but can't think of what to have now?
    Trying to keep in budget.

Lois, I love the idea of using cous cous for breadcrumbs... don't they get a bit too hard though?

Off for a walk in a minute, hoping to keep my Saturday healthy!!

I add about half of the usual amount of boiling water and leave it to cool, then coat the fish/potato cakes with it before frying with frylight. Just had them or dinner and now I feel quite stuffed!

Well done you! That's an amazing start, how have you been finding it?

I'm with you on SP, far too complicated! I'm going to try doing some low carb/low calorie days to boost my weight loss, maybe 2 days a week.

Thanks for the information Shala, I'm obviously not going to get anywhere without a copy of the new book, so I'll continue with the previous plan and do a few red days as above.

Decided to make today a green day, counting the fish as a HEB. Skipped breakfast and had scrambled eggs and toast HEB for lunch, fish cakes, chips and peas for dinner.

Tomorrow we'll have chicken casserole with lots of veg and a small jacket potato.

Going out tonight which will involve walking 1 km either way and may involve some dancing if my knees are up to it!

    Have a good evening.
