Well done BEG on SOTW. Well done all the losers.

CP - we all have times when we feel like throwing in the towel but as others have said just stick to SW when you can it will at least be a bit of damage limitation. The weight will come off once you're able to concentrate on yourself a bit more. Have a dodgy group hug:grouphug:

Well done Jock of your 4 stone shiney and setting your target. Seems like moving the magnet has done the trick, LOL!

    Another EE day today:

B - scrambled eggs on toast; banana; grapes
L - HM red pepper & lentil soup (leftover from yesterday)
D - steak, jacket potato, onions & sweetcorn (need using up!) with a peppercorn sauce (3.5 syns for 1Tbs of double cream).

Have decided that as the nicer weather should be here soon I could do with some new summer dresses so this morning I've sorted out a pattern and some material I bought years ago and have just finished cutting out all the pattern pieces. Now need to sort out the sewing machine and thread and get on with making it! Have to say it's been about 35 years since I last did dressmaking but hoping it's like riding a bike - you never forget!

Jocks “ I think in reality I'm 7lbs away as I don't want to spend my life going to weigh in with light trousers and eating a very light tea every Tuesday” Lol you do make me laugh!!! This is exactly how I how I have felt at times

My advice for anyone starting out would be that whatever you start doing to try and get a better weight loss, you will be required to do for ever more. My examples

    1. Not drinking any fluids after 1pm and taking a large bottle of water to weigh in.
    2. Wearing some stupid black trousers I found in my wardrobe that now look like clown pants, but I can find no lighter trousers.
    3. Having a very light tea and no dessert.
    4. Did some heavy sweaty exercise, lost 2lbs of sweat and not drank anything before going to weigh in (i took the hit on this the following week though).
    5. Wearing no underwear.

So when I hit my weight loss target, I don't really want to do my weigh in rituals any more, hence I'd suggest at least an additional 3lbs on top of what my target weight is.

So basically I spend all afternoon thirsty, have a very light tea and sit around feeling like I want a chocolate bar and feeling even thirstier. I've started to go to weigh in early and then having a little picnic.

All of this because i decided I wanted to be SOTW in my second week and to hide a couple of bad weeks.

Would actually like Egypt - it'd be nice to go and see the pyramids, although I couldn't cope with the heat!

Anyone watching Back In Time for dinner? The lady has just served cold liver _pale_ it's the 50's today, with all the war rationing.

I've been to Egypt a couple of times, Cairo and Sinai once and Nile cruise the other. I went October and February when weather is good but very bearable. Would definitely recommend. :)

I saw the programme and although interesting I felt that what made the early 50s food so unpalatable for the family wasn't the rationing but that she was a carp cook. Only yesterday I bought some liver for the freezer and I often see it on restaurant menus. I serve mine with loads of onions, gravy, mash and veg. She had all these things but chose to cook it in advance, leave it grey instead of browning it, then serve it up cold with cold potatoes and no sauce or gravy. I like liver but I wouldn't stomach it served like that!

Don't despair CP, there are so many things out of control in your life at the moment and it really won't help for you to add to it by letting your weight get out of control too.

Like you, I haven't done dressmaking in years denise, except for the odd fancy dress costume for DGDs. What sort of dress are you making? (excuse natural nosiness:o). I need some short, beach dresses for covering up at lunchtime. I find the ones in shops (kaftans etc) are often made of yucky, synthetic fabrics that I wouldn't want to wear in hot weather.

    My EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk
L: not sure maybe just some fruit or buy a salad in town
D: sausage, mash, cabbage, peas, cauli
Syns: gravy, sausages (2) and scrape of spread

I've got some carrots and a bit of swede to use up so mash will be a mixture inc. potato. Not properly SP but leaning that way.

WI for me tomorrow. I feel thin enough but I must have gained. My plan is to go this week and next then take a break until I've reined back my (inevitable) Easter gain.

I'm lucky in that I have an early morning WI. I do always have breakfast but my lightest one (HEB Shreddies) and usual drinks. I try to wear similar clothes but gave up the clown trousers ages ago and now almost always wear jeans. AND I wear underwear!!!:rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: brilliant, it never occurred to me that she was a bad cook but now you say it... that liver looked disgusting and eating it cold is never right _pale_

Denise, you've piqued my interest. I'd love to see a photo of what you make.. it would be something i'd like to try.

My MIL has a sewing machine and she's a good seamstress so i might get her to show me the ropes. My sister always buys dresses from a boutique in the Lanes in Brighton which uses weird patterned material, they are a bit expensive though..

e.t.a. ohh i found it online https://www.getcutie.co.uk/home/index.html, amazing fabrics :D

Lovely story in the Daily Fail today http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3000274/Couple-lost-22-STONE-crowned-slimmers-year.html

It'll be a while before it's finished, LOL! Its a fairly simple panelled style dress and I'm making it in a cotton fabric which has a black background with groups of small flowers in it (not easy describing fabric!).

Will try and load a picture once it's done but I'll need to get instructions on how to do it first though!

Shala - I'd just say give it a go - patterns come with all the instructions you need. Just need to make sure you choose a simple pattern to start with. Most patterns are marked with how easy they are (or not).

  • Jock - hilarious! You'll have to bite the bullet on those trousers at some point.
I weigh in first thing at home, but do occasionally see what I am in the evening too, just to get a feel for the difference.

    Having an SP day today:

B: Porridge (B) with skimmed milk (0.5 A), raspberries, strawberries and blueberries (aware the latter don't count for the P but I enjoy them anyway!)
    S: Nectarine
L: Toast (B), beans and RF cheese (0.5 A) with loads of cucumber and tomatoes. Peanut hottie quark (2)
    S: Apple
D: HM quorn and bean chilli (incl loads of veg), dark choc kitkat (5)

Will definitely find something else to spend my remaining syns on!

Am wondering whether to bite the bullet at some point and try a whole week of SP.

    Have a good day all

Well done on SOW BEG!! Fantastic!!

Some great losses coming in today. Well don to you all.

I'm debating throwing in the SW towel. I'm simply going through have a good few days, then blow it all! I lose, gain, sts and repeat. So frustrating. Today was ment to be a positive day, but son really unwell with mumps, DH is ripping out bathroom out and i'm stressed with the mess. Stressed with work. Stressed with poorly kids. And just wanna eat loads and loads of chocolate!

Ignore me.... Feeling sorry for myself, lol.

    CP xx

aww love feel for you but don't give up, just go with the flow and be kind to yourself, eat whatever makes you feel better for a few days and then get back on, it is after all a life plan and life is not always kind to us, hugs
