As far as I am aware, all of the people that help out do it for nothing.

I've been doing slimming world for almost 2 years now. I have a total loss of 3.5 St looking to lose another 1.5 stone. For the last six months or so we have had a new consultant who runs 9 classes and is also a manager so has other consultants under her and I have been her pay lady for my class which I quite enjoyed doing. She is always short of help tho on all of her classes. My issue is that the helpers get nothing back for this, barely even a thank you some weeks. The first week she gave me £2 back but that's been it. I know don't volunteer to help at her other classes, I'm struggling to see why I should use my fuel to help her earn.

Does anyone else help out and is this usual? I can't help thinking if she didn't take us for granted so much she would have a lot more offers of help.

Your Consultant doesn't sound a very nice person and uses people
for her own ends. Our helpers at group do not pay and are always
given a big thank you at the end.

Personally I would not help her and its really no surprise that she is short of help.

    Morning all :)

It's 1lb off for me this week Shala.

That isn't even halfway to the target I set and although I'm pleased to be 6 lbs lighter than I was, I'd like to be losing more so something needs to change for this challenge. I'm not sure about SP, I think I'd be hungry without any carbs, but I might try doing Red days instead of EE.

    LL :)

I'm pleased for you lois. It has to be better to be almost a half stone lighter. Since I've thought about SP I'm conscious that I definitely eat fewer carbs especially potatoes. I've stopped throwing a few potatoes/parsnips into vegetable soup too. You could try a few SP meals or just odd days. Red Days sound much the same to me except for a measured carb but cutting back has done that for me anyway. I'm also conscious of the revised Speed food list and choosing not to eat the fruit that's now just free (easy for me as I'm not a big fruit fan).

Thanks jockosjungle mind you I think I like the sound of your diet much better :)

I often have off plan meals jock. While it may seem devastating when you're only starting on the journey, further down the line you're not going to gain all the weight back in one meal (or one weekend lantanna;)). I think your mum has a good point in that if you've something to aim for (like looking good on a night out) then you're more inclined to eat sensibly all week even if you do go off plan on the night out.

troubr, it's not cheeky at all to come on here and ask questions. Everyone is more than willing to share our experience of SW and there are lots on the thread who don't go to classes for one reason or another. If you could afford just £10 then I would suggest one visit to a class to get new books and the introductory talk but it's not essential if you can't afford it. Why don't you post a few menus so that we can tweak them to the Extra Easy (Red and Green mixed) plan for you and/or you could look at the 7 day sample menu on the SW site.

b_e_g, I asked about the steak because I've only ever used the 2 for £5 sirloins in Farmfoods rather than the braising steak in the recipe. If you got yours YS then that's brilliant.

I'm experimenting with a Green day today as DH isn't here tonight so I can indulge as he doesn't like eggs. I needn't worry about upping the Speed food and I could have Finn crisps and gorgonzola (a HEB on Green strangely) without guilt.

    Today's menu:
B: NAS Ribena, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk
    L: lentil and veg soup
D: egg and chips!:D maybe with some peas and pickled onions
    Snack: cheese and biscuits (HEB)
Syns: scrape of spread, weekend wine.

    Happy Friday all :)

Determined head fell off as I came off the wagon wednesday night and ordered dominos. And of course as it's 2 for the price of 1 it would be stupid to buy just one. The plan was to put one in the freezer for another binge in a few weeks, but hubby came down with a stomach bug (he's proper poorly) and after single handedly sorting the kids out for bed I just ate cold pizza for tea :o

I'm thinking of trying to do SP for at least the next 3 days to try and make up for it. Will probably go make some mini quiches shortly.

Not eating anything right now as I had the dentist at 10 and she put half my face to sleep :( Not risking any food or the cup of coffee I desperately want until it wakes up again :(

Oh, and my fitbug arrived yesterday and has been set up this morning. I'd love to go for a nice walk but hubby can't look after the children (to be fair if he was well he'd be at work so I'd still not be able to until later). Hoping it will encourage me to get off my backside a little more. Today's step count is not looking great - not one of them aerobic exercise either!

Thank you for this. As I said I'm happy to help at my class but you've confirmed I am right not to be running off to other classes to offer my services. I always do a 12 countdown too so both things together keep me going and my weight loss on track.

Off this topic, I have just discovered nasty vimto! I've been having it with hot water which saves my milk allowance as I can be a bit of a coffee pot lol.

Edited to say ... I didn't mean nasty vimto lol. I meant NAS vimto!

Could you not put kiddie winks in pushchair and take them for a walk? Extra BM from the workout! :A

Dosed up on painkillers and moving gingerly today, taking it easy (see what I did there :rotfl:) and resting up. Still in pain though.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Get well soon TIE, it's not that long since the muscles went in my back and it was awful so hope you are on the mend quickly.

My 3 year old will not go in a buggy anyway - I'm not sure I can stand a walk at her pace!

Mini quiches made, will have some with some veg shortly. Well, maybe not that shortly as I still can't feel my face...

I have been on the social team for a good while & have never received payment. No social team members get paid. SW believe that if ST members got a free weigh that it does not encourage people to stick to plan.
For me it suits me to be on the social team as it makes me go to class every week & means I have not put on all the weight I have lost.
