  • Thanks folks for the very warm welcome. I have done sw before a couple of years ago and lost 1 1/2 stone. Have put it back and more. I need to lose about 5 stones but I'm going to take it 1 at a time. I find it best to limit my carbs as I need a quick result to keep me motivated although I'm in it for the long haul this time.
My freezers and cupboards are bursting due to lurking on the elite thread.
My plan so far is porridge made with water and a splash of semi skimmed with some canderel.
    fruit mid morning.
salad for lunch followed by a muller light
dinner will be either fish or chicken with salad or veg.
fruit to nibble in the evening.
I know what I need to do but it never works out that way. I tend to graze and eat whilst preparing food. Cheese and crisps are my biggest downfall and I haven't found a satisfactory substitute for these so any recipes most welcome. x

    Well done, shortie.

    Hello, virgo.

According to the test, I’m a Constant Craver. I know the 5:2 wouldn’t work for me as I am not strong willed enough for it. I also think the description doesn’t quite fit me – I wanted to qualify the questions/answers, so maybe I plumped for the wrong options.

Well, Expect the Unexpected right enough! I am celebrating my team winning away from home today and inflicting the first defeat of the season on our opponents. BTW celebration came in the form of a white roll and butter to accompany my bean stew. I know how to live it up!

Tomorrow I’ll be having “crafternoon tea” – 4 of us will be making wedding invitations, so I will have to take care.

    Good luck everyone.

  • Hello everyone.
I've not been on mse as a poster for a very long time but the time has come once again that I have reached the breaking point of my ongoing weight gain!
I have decided, wholeheartedly, that tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life and I need to, must, have to, want to...lose weight. I want to be able to lift clothes from supermarket rails knowing they will fit, I want to be able to wear clothes that fit me rather than hang loosely to cover the spare tyres! I want to have energy, to have pride in my appearance and to have inner happiness. Am I asking for too much?
Can I do this? I hope so.
Do I want to do this? Most definitely!!

Can I join you all please and share the good and bad with like minded folks?

Virgo - I loved your post. It was almost as if I had written it myself. Thank you for reminding me why I want to lose weight. Good luck on your weight loss journey, and welcome ;)

  • Good morning everyone!
This is Day One! A very important day! I weighed myself this morning and marked my calendar.
Breakfast so far has been porridge with water, splash of milk and sweetener. Cup of tea.
Why is it that the minute you tell yourself that you are changing your eating habits, food becomes your sole focus and you clock watch til you can eat again! This is ridiculous.....is it really an addiction that needs to be overcome. Any tips anyone?
I know keeping busy can help so the time has come to declutter and spring clean corners, cupboards, clothes and toys. Something I have been meaning to do for months.
The plan is that in the evenings, when I normally sit on my back side watching telly, eating crisps, chocs, grilled cheese etc I will use an hour each night to empty and sort something.
There will be regular progress reports as I have almost a craving to keep some sort of diary and I hope that this will satisfy that need.

Well done Wizkid1 on your weight loss. Hope its me next week. x
