Hiya All
Many thanks for all the hints and tips re chalk paint. I can see the point - sometimes buying cheap just makes more work or a job you just need to do again. For example - I wont buy cheap pens - I only use bic - writing is a big part of my life - it happens everyday and cheap pens just scratch and drive me nuts.
MM&M today I swapped a large bag of rhubarb (theirs) for a lift (5mins out of my way) Excellent MM&M.
Also washed my sheets and towels - I had been waiting for a day where they would dry outside - an unconscious habit MM&M - i.e.one we do but others dont even think about! :T
However, hangs head in shame,I gave into temptation and bought a Country L!fe magasine! I do like them and this is the first one this year! Also am going out to lunch tomorrow - to repay someone who was v kind to me and took me out all the time last year when I broke my leg - ergo I shall be spending again
Must do e-bay then I can justify this expense - my recent work load halves next week when the exams are over and I shall loose several students.
That's what I mean - people go wow! when I tell them the hourly rate but if you then factor in preparation time - petrol costs - tax man's cut - agency who finds me the work's cut - the fact that the work only lasts until exams and there is none over the summer - it explains why I need to be on here!! :A
I have a version of ME which means I cant work full time! Any how - lots of helpful friends on here :A
Will see if I can find an MM&M thing to do tomorrow - to balance the naughtyness of lunch out! LOLAim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!

Some great photos - Cesky Krumlov looks lovely.
I have mended a couple of t shirts and a jumper of DH. I mended the tiny hole before he realised it had a hole in it.He isn't keen on wearing clothes that he knows have been mended. I may tell him when he's worn it a few times.
I have reused an old colander to plant up bedding plants which I had spare and will hunt for some chain so I can hang it up.
The rain/hail this morning has helped fill the water butts.0 -
We lost our lovely Docky yesterday afternoon, had a crisis on Wednesday night when he was so uncomfortable and then he had a knock on his wound on Thursday morning, poor boy was in a state so we took the decision to let him sleep. Been very emotional and we're both feeling a bit lost as our routine of 11 years has gone overnight and we're in limbo until we get used to it just being the two of us. Not much MMM going on here except scratch meals with whatever comes out of the fridge but we're not all that interested in food either. It will get better, we will get used to not having him here but at the moment we miss him, Lyn xxx.0

Hello Folks,
I've tried to post several times the last couple of days - but to no avail; I keep getting 'timed out'. So I'll keep this short to see if it works and thank you so much for the view of Cesky Krumlov, VJ's mum! Some of the best times in my life have been spent there.
Viv xx
PS so sorry to hear about Docky; what a gap he'll leave in your life. x0 -
So sorry to hear about Docky. It feels like the end of the world, but you gave him a wonderful life.

Sincerely sorry Mrs LW to hear your sad news. I hope that you can find some consolation in knowing that he had a long and very happy life with you both. He was a lucky boy to have a loving, caring owners and a safe, warm home to lay his head in every night.
Sending you hugs and loving thoughts to you and yours x x x:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

So sorry to hear your sad news but be glad in the thought he died with the people he loved the best. I am also glad he is free from pain.0
