Lyn, so so sorry to hear the news on Docky.
Sitting hear with tears in my eyes thinking of you and him. May the time soon come for you when you recall some moment with him with a wistful smile and many more happy memories will follow.
You never forget them but you know you did all you could and, anything like me, I am sure you did far more. That will comfort you in time trust me.
Talk about him loads, it will help. XxNever, ever give up........0 -
Lyn so sorry to hear about Docky. You had given him a wonderful life - it is a difficult time but it does help to think of the happy memories. It takes time though to become used to the empty space following you around.
Sending you hugs,0 -

Firstly so sorry to hear about your woof, Lyn - such a beautiful creature - my Mandy (a GSDX) passed away 6 years ago and I still miss her - but I rejoice in all the lovely times we had and would not have missed one of them. May you find a kind of peace soon - they would not want us to be unhappy.

Jackie - (HUGS) glad you are back and on the road to recovery! Missed you!
nothing else to say! not been very moneysaving today as I made the mistake of taking grandkids up the shop with me!0 -
Thank you each one for your unstinted kindness, it's still a deep, deep sadness and we're both heart heavy and a bit lost but we'll become accustomed no doubt given some time. He was a pickle, a fruit loop and a hooligan but just about the best fun you could have with a hound and still stay legal! It's the day to day routine that is missing, we look at each other in the morning and say 'what have you got on today?' and the answer these days is 'nothing' so we're filling time and finding things to do where it would have been walks, feeds, playtime. You all know how it feels, you've many of you been here in the past and I know it will pass and one day our sun will shine again, one day!
I seem to have picked up He Who Knows bug so another very disturbed and this time uncomfortable night last night. Today I'm going to sit in the garden and just be, I don't have the energy to do anything else.0 -
Jackie - glad you are back - take it easy & very gentle hugs
MrsL - hugs to you too - weather report for the next few days is lovely so just enjoy and 'be' xx
Forgot Fuddle - lovely job on your kitchen units. Beautiful shade of blue (my favourite colour!)
Have a good day all xxSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Hi everyone, thank you all for your good wishes Mrs L sorry to hear of the loss of your little pal.Like me, take time to heal and reflect. He had a great well-loved life which is all any of us, including our doggy pals want.
Seemed odd being in my own bed last night I kept waking up expecting to see one of my DDs dogs. The eldest one Ollie, is a grand old chap of going on 14 and is a real old charmer. He senses when you are not feeling well, and will just sit beside you and gaze at you with big brown eyes.
The little dog Lexi has no such finer feelings she is a bit of a tart and will go where the food is likely to be. She is a miniature Jack Russell and very excitable, but Ollie is an old rescue dog of doubtful parentage, who had be abandoned in a house when its owners moved. It was half-starved by the time it was rescued, but DD has always had a rescue dog and he has been brilliant fellow and although large, and not pretty to look at he was wonderful when my DDs children were babies and very gentle with them all.
I woke the other night in the middle of the night and he was just sitting there watching me like a little nurse bless him.
His muzzle is very white now and he has a job getting in and out of the car as his joints are a bit like mine, and arthritic, but he is quite happy just sitting by my chair and just 'being' IYKWIM.
This is praise indeed from me as I'm not much of an animal person at all.:):):) But I can see how much comfort and joy, dogs especially, can bring people. So mourn your loss, but be glad to have had him in your llife, and remember how much pleasure you got, and gave to each other.
Well I am going to have a think about some breakfast I won't be walking far today maybe a slow walk to the local library this afternoon I can put the books to go back in my 'dollytrolley' as I can't carry much, and a bit of fresh air will do me good. But I am going to let my body tell me what I can do, and at the moment it seems just to need a steady supply of fresh coffee:):) along with a couple of my beloved ginger nut biscuits.
I seem to have lots of cash in my food purse ,but then I really haven't been near a shop for over a week and have no need to buy anything at the moment My DGD Holly said she might pop in this afternoon at some point and I'll get her to change the bed for me. Onwards and upwards chums its only good things to come once I get back up on my feet again I have a trip in July to Bluewater to go to when I will hopefully buy myself some pretty underwear once the scars have healed up.
I have to get about and mobile soon as I am doing the Race for Life next month at Moat Park with DD as a thank you to all the great doctors and nurses who have helped get me to this point when I can safely say I am back to how I was in 2007.A bit older ,a lot wiser (I hope) but a survivor which is the main thing.
I hope you all have a good weekend with lots of MM&M going on. I shall be mainly just slowly pottering around. The sun is out and its looking like a nice day ahead
Take care everyone

Very sorry to hear about Docky. It's no consolation but as a pet owner and lover you have to put the animal first and you and HWK have always done that and gone above and beyond in his care and comfort.0
