    Hi everyone,

It's a long time since I've been on here and it looks like from the above date that I'm not the only one. Just to say I've been really busy setting up Grange Antiques and Interiors (find us on Facebook). If you see anything you like, contact me, mention MMM and if you purchase, there will be a discount. We have a full delivery service.

Good luck with your business venture, vhalla1478.

    Today's mini achievements:
Make do: a recipe called for soft brown sugar to make a barbecue type marinade, and I substituted honey. Also I didn't have mustard powder, garlic and tinned chopped toms. Substituted french mustard, grated root ginger and passata. I think we all learn over the years that approximations in recipes work just fine most of the time... with the occasional rather "interesting" result.

Mend: I've tightened up all the screws on my pots and pans.. They work their way loose every so often, and the handles get quite wonky if not regularly tightened up. I keep the requisite Philips screwdriver in the cutlery drawer, ready to wrestle the handles into order again.

Minimise: I'm in use-it-up mode in the kitchen, so some YS parsnips and leeks went into today's beef short rib casserole. Three portions are boxed for the freezer, and I had one portion with some reduced broccoli. The remaining liquor will be whizzed and become tomorrow's soup. I'm now happily minimising a half sherry glass of limoncello as a wee post prandial treat, in lieu of pudding. Lovely!
